I was unable to find Stoner Trim Shine in any of the auto-parts stores in my area so I went ahead and ordered a can from Amazon. We have a 2001 Jeep Cherokee Sport with bumpers and side plastic trim that had faded to a dull, flat gray color. I went ahead and masked off any of the paint on the vehicle that I didn't want to get Trim Shine on and sprayed away. I don't know how it works but it made our faded, scuffed plastic bumpers and side trim turn a nice semi-gloss black. I haven't washed the vehicle since we have sprayed the trim shine on but according to what I have read online, one coat should last 6 months, so I will probably add another coat just before winter. I used about 1/2 can on the bumpers and side trim of the Jeep and for the money, it isn't a lot spent to re-condition like new. The only catch to this spray is that you want to mask off any part of your vehicle that you don't want to get the spray on as I had a small patch on our door that got sprayed and it kinda soaked into the paint making a small dark spot that I would imagine should come out with time. Before using Trim Shine I was to the point that I was going to sand down and rattle can paint the trim because it looked so bad. BTW, the catch with this stuff is that you want to mask off the bodywork, that is all. It says on the back of the can that you should test it before doing an entire section of car bumper or trim so you may want to go that route. Also, I would imagine that this stuff is a lot cheaper in the auto-parts store than the $12 shipped price that I paid but it was money well spent. Supposedly, you can use this trim on the inside of your car on vinyl or plastic but I would recommend spraying it on a towel and applying to the material instead of spraying directly.

First, let me say I'm a huge fan of Stoner's glass cleaning products. So I had very high hopes for this product - I used it on my 2006 Chevy Trailblazer SS, which has very little black trim, but spread about in the most annoying fashion. Why automakers continue to use that #%$^&@ material as much as they do is beyond me. They don't have to - our RX330 has virtually none of it. #%$&#* idiots - I'd love to get in a room with the people who think it's okay to put black plastic trim on cars. But I digress...

This works okay - it has drawbacks that all of these trim care products seem to have - mostly dealing with water. First, it only lasts 2 or 3 weeks - your mileage will vary. I was a little disappointed, but that was okay. When it rains, it accelerates the process of it wearing off - and I'd be okay with that if it just wore off and that was it.

But it doesn't just wear off - you'll see it streak your paint and glass as water hits it and runs down onto your mirrors, glass, or paint. If you're like me and you spray the trim around your side mirrors, masking it off doesn't much matter because when it rains, it's going to leave visible, distorting streaks on your side mirrors. And they're not easy to get off, either, on the side mirror material, which always seems less "friendly" to cleaning than the window glass. It comes off the paint much easier, but it's still disappointing that it happens.

But if you're spraying bumpers or fender flares or something like the black trim below the sills - staining from water runoff is probably not a concern, and this product is not a bad choice, since it is so quick to apply. When water hits those types areas, it just runs off without touching a painted area.

Couldn't have been easier to use. You spray, it does its thing. I didn't even wipe. That was it. I haven't washed my car since using it, so I cannot attest to its staying power. But let's face it: It's not going to be permanent. Everything will eventually wash off. If you own a car, you realize it needs maintenance (like waxing) right?

Anyway - It's brilliant for ease of use and instant gratification. I will keep buying this, so long as I have a car with black plastic in need of revitalization.

Looked GREAT........................ for about 3.5 weeks... I did drive about 3500 miles in that time, but by the end of 4 weeks it looked exactly like it did before. I'm about to try some stuff called Bumper & Cladding Coat PERMA SHINE.. Anyone know if it's any good? As for this stuff here, don't waste your time, it's not the answer to the never ending quest to restore faded plastic on Xterras, that's for sure. Gave it a 3 cause yeah, it did work, just not for long..... maybe if I had used like 2 cans on each part? I dunno....

I love this product, it makes all my car's plastic trim look brand new but not all greasy looking. It has just enough shine without the problems of dirt, bugs and everything else sticking to it. The spray nozzle is very accurate and doesn't spray all over the place. One of the best features is that it lasts a long time. If you get a lot of rain it won't last as long but longer than most other sprays like armor all. I really recommend this stuff, I'm very into products for making my car look nice and I've tried so many others but this is my favorite.
