About the Author
Shane Mac is the Director of Product for Zaarly, a local marketplace to hire amazing people for just about anything. Since launching in 2011, Zaarly has been featured on the cover of Entrepreneur magazine and was ranked one of the 50 Most Innovative Companies by Fast Company in 2012. Prior to working at Zaarly, Shane helped build Gist, which was later sold to Blackberry, worked at Cobalt Group which was acquired by ADP and founded Hello There, a new way to introduce yourself through video. He has been interviewed and featured on the Wall Street Journal, New York Times, Reuters and The U.S.A Today. He speaks regularly for universities on entrepreneurship and businesses. His wedding band was also voted the best in Seattle in 2009.

Woven with these short essays is the story of writing the book while on a train ride from Seattle to San Francisco and back, accompanied by the musical playlist that provided a backdrop to the writing adventure. While this adds a bit of color and interest, the truisms are the real value.
