The true stories and anecdotes from the authors personal experiences, as well as those of her friends, colleagues and workshop participants, serve as clear illustrations. Some humorous, others touching, and one near tragic, they move us quickly from theory to practical application. Once you understand that the choice is yours, you place yourself in the driver's seat of your life. By using Carol Welsh's techniques to expunge negativity from your life, you gain near magical powers in your level of happiness and your ability to function more effectively with others.
Not only will you want to read this book, but afterwards, you will probably want to sign up for one of Carol Welsh's workshops.
Lois W. Stern
Author of Sex, Lies and Cosmetic Surgery
Carol Welsh points out in a most interesting manner, that there is no 'one size fits all' in the realms of behaviour. There simply isn't a 'do' or 'don't do' solution to dealing with important, or difficult, relationships. Even our most prominent personality quirks are also subject to three other layered factors. What works for one may only fuel the flames of another.
I found the concepts most fascinating, both in evaluating my own behavior patterns as well as those with whom I deal closely. This work gives you a 'hands on' approach to individuals rather than a 'clinical' application of psychology that tends to lump every trait as universal to all who portray it.
I recommend it for anyone, age and gender not withstanding, who wishes to function 'comfortably' in any social environment beyond solitude. That would include your family unit if living with parents and siblings, a spouse, a child, a work environment, or simply shopping in a customer filled store.
