I devoured this book in one sitting. The emotions I felt while reading it ranged from belly gut laughter to OHMAHGAHD where are the tissues?!!? These women who have contributed with their stories have created something that any woman can identify with. There is a sense of camaraderie that only we as women can feel when raw stories such as these are shared with each other. We all have had our secret intimate moments with our mothers in one way or another that have shaped who we are as mothers, sisters, friends and wives. When I finished, I wanted to run and hug both my mother and my daughter! The only criticism I would give this book is that it was underpriced! The content was worth so much more than a measly $4.99.

Initially, I was excited to see such a gathering of writers in one space and the $4.99 was a no-brainer of a purchase. However, I was quickly disappointed. Many of the pieces seemed dashed off and the entire thing was sort of cobbled together without rhyme or reason. Three of the stories really touched me and saved this from being the loathed One Star Review. Meagan Francis has a lovely, respectful take on that age-old reconciliation of Dream Parents vs the Parents You Actually Get. Catherine Connors explores the hurts and regrets associated with both abortion and adoption - she handled such an intricate and potentially explosive topic with such insight, I will long be thinking about how she handled it. Also rounding out this read was Heather Spohr's introspections on the loss of a child and how she understood her grandmother's own loss of a child (I'm familiar with Spohr's story, but am not a regular reader, so this was new material for me.)

Otherwise, I really was quite lost on the point of this book. Many of these pieces were really written for the authors' own mothers and did not seem to hold a particular relevance for the reader.

I purchased this ebook a few days ago. I enjoy reading stories written by other mom's who share a common thread with me. The stories were very thought provoking and touching. As women it is always nice to share events which touch our lives and realize we are not alone in our sorrow or joy.

I highly recommend this short read and a great price at 4.99$.
