Although the title is Stories of Sun, Sand, and Sea…..a couple of installments venture away from the sea in the overall gist of story, but read so enchantingly, it didn’t matter. Each author has a unique writing style, and it was nice to finish one book, and have a break before jumping into the next author. As a fan of Angel Sefer and her Greek Isles series, she set the bar high with Whispers in the Wind to open the set. I always want to take off for Greece after reading her novels. Stephany Tullis writings always bring chuckles and a smile that leaves readers feeling great upon finishing and Beach Baby Blues was no exception. Judith Lucci’s Beach Blanket Murders takes readers to North Carolina, but Judith never goes too far without bringing New Orleans flavor and mystery with her. I won’t keep mentioning books/authors as I truly loved all the stories and it would take me four pages to tout what each writer brought to the table with this compilation.
I must say these volumes of work are pleasingly strung together, and now along with my craving for Anna Celeste Burke’s great “read in one sitting” cozy mysteries, Cherime MacFarlane’s wonderful tales mostly set in Alaska and make me want to return to my 2nd favorite state, P. J. Fiala’s fabulously written tales – mostly of fast riding bikers and the trials and tribulation of love, Julie Sarff’s interesting stories imbued with Italian flair that keep me turning pages, I can now add four new found authors, Valerie J. Clarizio, P.J. MacLayne, Nicole Sorrell, and Kinsey Corwin.
I highly recommend this compilation and guarantee it has something for all readers!
I especially enjoyed Judith Lucci's mystery, Beach Blanket Murders and Julie Sarff's Amanda's Revenge.
This is a great collection for reading on a plane (where I read it) or lounging at the pool or beach. It's a summer read you won't want to miss!
