Comfy but Prone to Squeaking
on June 23, 2014
Below was my original review. It was written when I was still pregnant. Now that our son is 11 months old, my review has changed. If I could give this glider negative 5 stars I would. It's horrible. Only the silicone WD 40 helps the squeaking at all, and it has to be reapplied every 1-2 weeks. I've tightened all the bolts multiple times, to no avail. And when it isn't the stupid bolts squeaking, it's something else making an annoying noise keeping my baby awake- like the plasticy cushions squeaking and crunching or some random piece of wood clicking. Plus, the seat is too small from front to back and from side to side for my baby to get very comfy in my lap or arms. Most nights I daydream of taking an axe to the wretched thing.
Whatever the additional cost to buy a glider from Toys R Us or Buy Buy Baby- it's completely worth it.
I really like this glider. It was super easy to put together. (I was able to easily assemble it on my own while 7 months pregnant.) Overall, it's super comfy. Actually, for me at now 9 months pregnant, it's the most comfortable place in the house. My only complaint is it's loud squeaking. However, two liberal sprays of WD-40 on all of the joints seems to have fixed the issue for now. Also, the back is on the shorter side. However, it's the perfect fit for my husband and I.
