Storm & Evie (Blizzard Chick)
I am reeling from this. What an exceptional read! This is most definitely a "cannot put down" kinda book! It's got so much more than I expected and I'm still amazed that this is Carian's first book! Usually authors write more than a few books before they reach this kind of excellence in their writing! She did it on the first try! You rock sista!
Ok, so where to begin. This book is jammed packed with lots of steamy sexual tension, hotter than hot sex scenes, heaps of humor, suspense, angst, and the hottest damn rock stars with alluring tattoos. I'm not sure when I felt it, probably from that holy hotness, sexy cover, but this book gave me goosebumps and tingles all over my body! I'm pretty sure my panties burst into flames the second Storm uttered his first words!! Pick up a copy of this book immediately, you will not regret it, in fact, you'll be calling me to thank me! LOL!
Now, what would you do if you were stuck in the backseat of a pickup truck during a blizzard with a long haired, tattooed up, sexy as all get out stranger for 48 hours? I know I'd drool all over myself every time I opened my mouth to talk. Not Evie! She acted like he was an axe murderer and treated him like the plague. Evie has issues and I'm thinking Storm is just what the doctor ordered to eradicate that rather large stick that's been lodged up her tight butt for years. She's fallen into this sort of lull with her life and surroundings that she doesn't even see the Storm coming for her, following her, until it's too late. What will Evie do? What will she change to make her life her own? And most importantly, how will she handle it all?Read more ›
She has been in a relationship for twelve years. He never wanted another relationship again. But they found themselves drawn to one another.
This is the first story in the Ashes and Embers series. I had already read Lukas, but thought I’d come back and read the first book. I didn’t feel a connection with either Evie or Storm. But then I had a deep connection with Lukas and Ivy. That isn’t to say that this book isn’t well done, it just didn’t have that connection with me that the other did. We did get to meet the other members of the band, including Lukas and Ivy. (The concert scene was really interesting being seen from Evie’s POV!) And though I’m certain it’ll make me ball, I’ll probably get and read Vandal’s story soon. But I’m pretty certain, I’ll bawl. Just sayin’….
Ms. Cole is creating this world were the men are absolutely dedicated. And by that I do mean absolutely. At least as far as Lukas and Storm are concerned, I cannot speak for the others, but wow. I really love that about her books that I’ve read so far. And this book does involve a love triangle between Evie, her boyfriend, and Storm, but really…there’s no real triangle here. It’s just that life is complicated and there aren’t any clear-cut lines and sometimes the best way out of a sticky situation isn’t always clean or easy. So I really appreciate that realness. So would I recommend this book to others? I would, because this band of men and family are very interesting and Ms. Cole does a really good job of building their world.

The sweatshirt is huge, like three sizes too big, but it's really soft. There's a big emblem across the front of it that looks like a scrolling A and E.
“What's the logo?”
“It's a rock band, Ashes and Embers.”
“I've never heard of them. Are they one of those bands that just scream and you can't even hear the words? I hate that crap.”
His laughter fills the truck. “Yeah, I guess they do scream. But at least the shirt is nice, right?"
When Evelyn got in her car to head out to a work seminar, she had no idea how much her life was about to change. The GPS gets her lost and through a series of mishaps she finds herself stranded in the middle of no where, in the midst of a blizzard, in the back of a pickup truck with a total stranger, for forty-eight friggin hours. Cut off from the world in their own little snow-globe proves to be more intimate than Evelyn could have anticipated as these two get to know each other on a level neither are used to. But there are some details that Storm leaves out, and once they get free he makes it clear that he is far from finished with her. Evelyn tries to keep him at a distance, she is in no position to get involved with him and doesn't see where she could possibly fit into his world; but what Storm wants, Storm gets, and right now he has his sights set on Evie.
I want to run. I want to hide under the bed. I want him to kiss me. I want to touch every inch of him. Fluck me. I am so messed up.
“Relax, little one. I'm not going to touch you or hurt you.Read more ›
