Livia Quinn is a D.C. native living in Louisiana. She began pursuing her dream of publication after a layoff and a little known event called Katrina in 2005. With several interruptions in her career, all involving weather, it’s only natural that storms would be at the center of many of her stories. She is a business owner and professional singer, salesperson, plant manager, computer trainer, and mail lady. She has written eight books based in the communities surrounding Storm Lake— an infamous, though fictional lake in Southern Louisiana. She has never met a Tempestaerie or a sexy Aussie gemhunter, but she has met some sexy cover models so see…Anything Can Happen!

I freely chose to review this book and I was hooked by the story as I love paranormal. Tempest Pomeroy is a paramortal like her family and she delivers mail to humans in the town of Destiny. Tempest has only a few talents and if not for them she would have thought she was adopted. With two weeks to go until Mardi Gras and she was having a bad day with humans! Now her brother was missing and she discovered a dead body in the club house! She'd denied her heritage for way too long. Now, her ex-lover and her new man, the hunky new sheriff are in a contest staking their claim! Was it any wonder that she was having the worst MALE day?
I love books with quirky characters and this one's stuffed full with them. I wish my town was a little more like Destiny, Louisiana. When a book has me sitting in a Dr' s waiting room laughing to my self, panting as I fan my face, then biting my nails in suspense it covers all my list of requirements for a great book. Usually I m not a great fan of clifhangers, but this author writes meaty books, this one was over 300 pages, and the second book in this series was published quickly after so I'm not afraid of a long wait for other books.
I don't normally read books that are based on fantasy but love Livia Quinn's books so gave this one a try. So glad I did! I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a hot guy with a heart of gold. It has a cast of characters who will keep you entertained and also keeps you guess as to what has happened to the missing River. On to the next book in this series I go.
I really liked this novel. It moved fast, but as the mystery unravels I was drawn deep into the lives of the characters and felt the emotions as my own. My only gripe was the ending. It just ended with out much resolved. It felt like part one of a novel that is continuing. I want to read more and find out what happens to everyone
