Review
"I think Ms. Levine did an excellent job for her debut book. She was able to capture and give readers an inside peek of the ins and outs of a motorcycle club family. As for Jason, he made the book. He was sexy, domineering, bad ass, and a total alpha male. Nothing can stop Jason when it comes to protecting Madison. It was clear that he meant business and will go at all cost to ensure the safety of Madison. As for Madison and J's relationship, their sexual chemistry and passion was SCORCHING HOT!!" - Michelle from Give Me Books

Where do I start?? First Madison is just dumb because she grew up in the MC lifestyle and makes the decision to date some guy from a rival MC. The flow of the story didn't work it was too much for the first book (characters/storyline). No character was very interesting. Madison wanted so much respect and to be told what was going with the club yet she could not handle the situation with Rob and the MC protecting her and that is when she ran to the rival gang. Where was all this sass when dealing personal situations it only came out when dealing with those she knew wouldn't hurt her... club members. She finally got her life on track somewhat and she thought she was just going to be able to come back and her word was law taking care of Bec daughter? Seriously. I usually don't write a review this long but this was a very frustrating read. Madison blamed the club for all things bad in her life yet not give any credit to the MC for getting her out of some messed up situations. So in this scenario Madison needs to grow up.

The writing on this book was fairly decent, and I enjoyed it to a certain extent, but the massive drama-fest really didn't appeal to me. Madison has built a really amazing life for herself far away from the MC she grew up in. However, the past is catching up to her, and after a two-year absence, her brother (the VP of the club) and her father (the president) have sent J, her former flame and the man who broke her heart, out to bring her back. Supposedly to protect her, she's being strong-armed into returning so the club can keep her safe her while they hunt down Nix, a psycho from another club that Madison dated while she was drowning her angst in alcohol. Madison has a weird love/hate relationship with the MC, and often goes back and forth about whether she really wants to be there or not.
Predictably, J and Madison rekindle their affair, but there is a lot of relationship drama, screaming, and several misunderstandings thrown in. While a bit annoying, that part didn't bother me as much as some of the other drama in the book because, let's face it, J and Madison don't have a lot of relationship experience, nor do they have good role models. Well, the bad guy is caught and dealt with startlingly quickly, and everything seems fine for about five minutes. Then another psycho pops out of the woodwork to threaten Madison's life. Psycho number two is also dealt with quickly and abruptly, only for us to find out that Madison's father has a secret family that he's been hiding for the last twenty years or so. Not only does the secret brother suddenly decide that he wants to be a part of the MC family after a couple decades of ignoring them, we also find out that Madison's father likes to hit her mother. The mother justifies staying with him for all these years, and Madison rationalizes the abuse and her mother's acceptance of this abuse by saying it, "Made her mother a strong person." Not just no, but hell no.
For me, the ongoing drama was bad enough, but the abuse between Madison's parents and the author's casual rationalization of it was just too much for me. Especially when Madison decides to ditch her new and awesome life to stay with a pack of messed-up jerks. This story just didn't do it for me, and I can't see myself reading anything else by this author in the future.

DNF @ 56%! These characters were the worst, especially the heroine. You'd think since she grew up in an MC, she would know her place in it & not act like entitled & immature b*tch on her high horse. J was just as bad with with his hair trigger rage. These two were absolutely toxic together & I never understood the real attraction they had to each other, besides the "hot sex" that wasn't even sexy. Not to mention that the problem & danger point the MC is dealing with is over & done with in a matter of seconds when it comes to a head near the halfway point. What's the point of the rest of the story then? My first book from this author & not only will I NOT continue with the series, I'll be hesitant about picking up another from her.

The heroine was a bit of a dichotomy. She's supposed to have grown up in the MC lifestyle and though kept from the running of MC business, she was aware that traitors were killed, that rivals were tortured or beaten for information, etc. Yet she is troubled to the point of alcoholism, not because someone tried to rape her and cut her arm in the process, but because her would be rapist was killed for his actions. She didn't come across as someone who grew up in the MC lifestyle with a father and brother who were MC president and vice president respectively.
I thought the villains of this story (brother and sister) should have been fleshed out more. Why were they crazy violent? What made them tick? Where they close and why? The author never got into their heads so you'd know them, understand them. All you knew was what the brother had done to the h 2 yrs before and that 2 yrs later he killed one of her friends he'd been dating. (Why would the friend even date him knowing he was violent and had beaten her friend up?). Some things just didn't make sense and the author didn't do a good job of explaining. It's like she just threw a bunch of events together and threw in a few things to try and make it an MC story. It didn't work.
Still, in spite of all the above it wasn't a bad love story...might have been better if the author had taken the MC aspect out of it. In other words a love story about an alpha guy and a girl who had a traumatic past and a deranged stalker after her. I might have rated it 4 stars then. All I can say is maybe the author should watch Sons of Anarchy to get a better idea of the MC life.

As I was reading this book I kept feeling that I’ve read a very similar story. So kept expecting more to happen. But saying that I did enough the book.
Madison is born into the bikers club, Storm. Her dad is the president of the club, her brother is the VP and her boyfriend also belongs to the club. One evening her life is changed forever and she starts making bad choices. Until she leaves the live and everyone behind her to make a fresh start.
Two years later and one of her bad choices comes back to haunt her. She has to return home for her safety. Problem is the person sent to collect her is the ex that broke her heart and sent her away.
Madison and J’s relationship is ever so complicated but also fulled with sexual attraction.

Nina Levine, am liking your style of writing, this is a great story, thought a few times it was done, thought very wrong, excellent book. Madison's father is Prez of Storm MC, her brother VP, she grew up with the club, dated Jason from the club. One day a man attacked her, J saw and the man died. She went off the rails, got drunk, a lot, got involved with Nix a bad man from another club, when she'd had enough and tried to leave him, he beat her up. J and her family encouraged her to go away, she found a job she loved, shared a home with a girl who became her bestie, had good friends. She also went to AA, hadn't had a drink for 2yrs. Then her dad and brother messaged her to go home, she said no, then her brother rang her, said she needed to come home. When she again refused, he told her he was sending someone to watch her, he was already on his way. Of course he sent J.

This is the second time I'm reading Nina Levine's Storm MC series.
If you feel like an easy, uncomplicated read, and a well written MC series, this is the one.
What I appreciate most about this series is that I don't feel like I've read this story before.
There are two popular MC series (I like them both a lot), written by two very well known authors that I had a real problem re-reading. It was hard work keeping the two stories separated in my memory because they are that similar. NOT fun!
Any way... about Storm...
This is Maddy (Madison Cole - daughter of the Storm MC President and sister to Scott the VP) and J's (Jason) story.
Even though growing up in 'the life' Maddy was relatively sheltered from the darker side of it. So after two traumatic events a broken Maddy moved and left her family, the Club and her love behind, determined never to return.
This is the story of Maddy and J healing themselves and as a result their relationship while dealing with her crazy ex Nix (then VP, now President of the rival MC Black Deeds) and his equally crazy sister Mandy and some serious unfolding family drama!!
There is a DELICIOUS development right near the very end of the book (no cliffhangers!!) that makes you want to read on and looking forward to the next book! :)
The next book in the Storm MC series is Fierce! Scott's (VP) story.

This is the first book in an MC series and my first read by the author, it was fairly enjoyable
Our heroine grew up in the MC so is very familiar with their way of life however she seems to struggle with accepting the secretive "club business" aspect of a relationship with a club member? I don't know I just found that a little bit annoying so I didn't warm to her as much as I could have.
Our hero is a typical alpha male who of course has a soft under belly but only the chosen few get to see that side of him.
Things move at a brisk pace and this made it a quick read for me as there wasn't any real suspense being built or lingering on particularly momentous events.
All in all it was a good read and I'll continue with the series.

Life can be a bitch but love can get you through any storm.
Madison Cole has grown up in the Storm MC. Her father is the President and her brother is the VP. Two years ago she walked away from everything she knew but now events beyond her control threaten to destroy the life she has worked hard to rebuild.
Nina Levine is one of those authors that I keep promising to read but never find the time, so when i saw that Storm, the first in her Storm MC #1 was on offer, I just had to grab it.
What can I say? I enjoyed it but felt that it was missing some of the usual elements I enjoy in an MC read. I was no where near as gritty or as thrilling as I would have liked.
I found Madison's character annoying, her constant whining was just too much at times and it seems that I am not alone when I that she irked the hell out of me.
There were some steamy scenes between Madison and sexy as hell biker Jay but over all it fell a little short for me, I just couldn't connect to this story.
