I would totally recommend this book. Some of the unique ideas and practical suggestions are just nowhere else to find!
Capt' Fatty is once again delivering real-world experience to us in a rich, entertaining way yet with step-by-step instructions.
Hands-on experience of various storm management equipment and techniques are described, including options such as the Jordan series drogue.
And it is the only book on the topic I have read which enthusiastically embraces the possibility of not just surviving, but embracing the awe and beauty of heavy weather. Not to mention the opportunities for other recreational pursuits which can be undertaken whilst waiting for the storm to abate...
A great read, with some worthwhile advice delivered in thoroughly entertaining fashion.
Readers will note correlation between this and his previous "serious" books. Mainly because the simple truths of sailing are just that.
If you appreciate his style and actually want to learn something this is a true successor to Buy Outfit and Sail and Creative Anchoring.
Simple common sense on paper plus a lot of tips which seem so simple you shouldn't need to be told. But if no one tells you, perhaps you wouldn't think of them... Enjoy.
As with every other one of his books, I walked away with several pieces of invaluable information. In this particular case, I had yet another "why didn't I think of that" moments when he described his simple, yet ingenious method of ensuring the companionway boards stay on the boat!
