Editorial Reviews

From the Author

When I began this book, it was a story about a boy and his boat. I never expected for American Rayne Evans to show up on stage in Rotterdam, or for the book to become her story. I credit Pandora. I heard an intriguing song, which led me to another, and then yet another--if you listen to Pandora, you know how that goes.
I discovered the world of symphonic metal, a blend of heavy metal rock, opera, orchestra, and choir. These groups are most popular in Europe; you won't hear much of it in the US, except for the group Evanescence. Some of this music is disturbing, twisted, and probably strives to be evil. But other songs and groups present spiritual and moral themes, such as angels, redemption, justice, salvation, betrayal, and vindication.
Storm Song is partially related to the first book, Perilous Cove. You'll find overlapping settings (the communities of Perilous Cove and Storm Lake), and some common characters, including brothers Ben and Addison Conner. But the book stands alone in central story and characters, so you don't have to read them in order (though it wouldn't hurt).
I'd love to hear from you if you have thoughts or questions about the books or the writing process. Enjoy the story!

About the Author

Rich Bullock writes stories of ordinary people put in perilous situations, where lives are changed forever. His first published novel, Perilous Cove, was a semi-finalist in the Zondervan First Novel Contest. His second novel, Storm Song, won the ACFW (American Christian Fiction Writers) Genesis Contest in suspense. He is a member of American Christian Fiction Writers, and the Quills of Faith writing group in Redding, California. His first writing experience was at ten years old on a well-used typewriter, where several keys added extra spaces after striking, and clearing the tangled print arms was a continual chore. The old machine lasted through high school all-nighters. Fortunate to grow up in small-town San Luis Obispo, California, he developed an eye for settings that remind people of home. He now lives and writes in Redding, California where, on most days, he sees Mount Lassen, Mount Shasta, and the inside of Starbucks.
