Product Description

A simple, beautiful Calculator similar to the iPhone calculator.

Calculator Kalkylator 計算器 계산기 電卓 калькулятор Calcolatore Regnemaskine Calcolatore

A simple, beautiful calculator inspired by the iPhone calculator but with added functionality such as skins and layouts. It is designed to replace the rather lame stock calculator with a calculator that looks great while retaining ease of use and intuitive design. Calculator is designed to meet all of your calculating needs!

***Calculator Features***
*Simple, accurate calculator: Leave the calculator in portrait view to see just a simple calculator, or turn the calculator on its side to reveal a scientific calculator

*Calculator Skins: Calculator v.3.0 now supports changing of skins to change the look and feel of the calculator. Choose between and array of different skins to match your favorite phone OS including iOS, HTC Sense and Samsung Galaxy. Also if there is a certain skin you would like to see made for you, don't hesitate to send an email!

*Different calculator layouts: Choose between 3 different calculator layouts. 1) Default Layout for a standard 10-key calculator in portrait mode and scientific calculator in landscape. 2) Business Layout adds a '%' key in portrait mode and a '00' key. 3) Simple Layout keeps the 10-key calculator in both portrait and landscape mode when all you need is a simple calculator.

*Memory Buttons- Fully functional 'M+', 'M-', 'MR' and 'MC' calculator buttons. Calculator will remember the value stored in it even if you leave the app.

*Landscape calculator: Turn your phone on its side to reveal a scientific calculator with advanced functions like square root, exponents, factorials and more.

*Trig calculator: The landscape calculator even features full support for trigonometric functions. Calculator can take Sin, Cos, Tan, inverse trig, and hyperbolic functions and can calculate in both Radian and degree mode. Great for use in algrebra and other math classes.

*Calculator looks great from the smallest to the largest screens as well as low and high density screens. Calculator also works on the Galaxy Tab!

*App2SD- You can install Calculator to your SD card if using Android 2.2+

This calculator fails the simplest possible test, reporting that 1+2*3=9 *even in "scientific" mode*. I'm shocked that only one other person's review appears to point out that this calculator doesn't respect order of operations. Adding some extra buttons doesn't make a calculator scientific. Skip this one unless you're really just looking for the most basic calculator.

[Added] To those who can't appreciate what's wrong with this "calculator", I suggest you try checking e.g. a groceries receipt with it. Just enter the amount & quantities as they are listed. Then try using your Android calculator...

The most useful reviews I saw were from 2012 so... "surely the developer has ironed out all the bugs by now?" I thought to myself as I downloaded this "Calculator" (great name btw, really distinctive!) and tried it out. I entered the expression 1+2x3 and - holy cow! - it's 9!! (Not 7 as it should be.) This must be the first calculator app/program that I saw which can't even observe the universally-accepted order of operations. And if you want to excuse this calculator by suggesting it uses parentheses for operator precedence (unacceptable excuse anyway), I am sorry to tell you there are NO parentheses keys!!

This app is simply NOT FIT FOR PURPOSE! It would certainly receive a FAIL even as a high school assignment!! And it is a great mystery why it's still in the store (and charging money too!) when its failings have been pointed out over 2 years ago! I'm sorry, but you failed too Amazon!!

the lack of order of operations makes this useless to me (especially with the lack of grouping symbols). and the claim that this is a scientific calculator and a possible resource for algebra students is just wrong. students will enter the expression exactly as it appears with out realizing they aren't being executed in the wrong order. please either add support for order of operations, or change how the previous calculations appear (I'd suggest you make it look exactly like the tape from an old desktop calculator).

realcalc is much better, or my favorite Andie Calc assuming you can (legally) get a ti ROM for it.

It fails the order of operations, which is inexcusable for a calculator. I stopped using it after that. Somehow I could foresee other problems in this app, so be wary if you decide to use it.

No invasive permissions.

I used this calculator for years until it stopped working. It would crash anytime a mathematical function was attempted. To make things worse, it would also crash if I tried to change the calculator skin. The app was completely unusable. I contacted Stormin Dorman Productions on April 14, 2014 and was told:

"Thanks for letting me know about this. I will try to take a look at this and see what I can do. I am not as active in development for this app as I used to be but if it is an easy fix I will see what I can do."

That was the last contact I had with the developer. I do not remember what version that was installed (it was the current version available on Amazon Appstore at that time), but unless the developer has updated the app, the bug is still there.

Galaxy S3 running Android 4.3 at the time.

For the most basic math of the form A op B, this calculator is functional. And this is, of course, what a lot of people do.

However, as pointed out a few times already, any calculator which claims to have a scientific (or even business) mode and doesn't follow the correct order of operations has clearly dropped the ball.

Personally, I stick with Droid48 (on the Android market) for all of my calculator needs, big and small. It emulates an HP-48GX calculator, provides a near identical skin, and even runs the actual 48GX ROM. It's as close to the real thing as you can get without holding the real hardware. If you're not a fan of RPN (Reverse Polish Notation), then you probably won't like this, which is really too bad. You should definitely try it. It's even small!

This is not a scientific calculator. A scientific calculator uses order of operations. It's acceptable to work like a 10 key calculator when it has only ten keys but when it goes into "scientific" mode it has to have order of operations.

It's worse than that though: it suffers from roundoff errors. A real calculator (scientific or simple) does true decimal math like a human not binary math like a computer. Try this: enter 1 then divide by 3 then multiply by 3. On any real calculator the answer is 1. On this piece of junk you get 0.99999999. The programmer doesn't understand decimal math.

Others have pointed out issues with no order of operations, but what I am really concerned with is why my phone says this app alone used over 800MB of data last month, especially considering I never even opened it during that time.
