Editorial Reviews

From Sonia Delaunay to Christian Dior, art and fashion and fashion and sport were the great movements of the 1920s. The syncopated decade swung with Sonia Delaunay's abstract fabrics and looks inspired by Hollywood. In the '30s, Elsa Schiaparelli put fun into fashion with the help of Surrealist artist Salvador Dali. Hollywood reasserted its influence in the 1940s. The war years also saw the emergence of the sweater as a fashion accessory. Later, in Paris, a new fashion explosion took place: Christian Dior's New Look.
