About the Author

Hawk Hurst is a storyteller, musician, flute maker, and outdoor educator. He is a bard in the truest sense of the word. He shares his stories and music at schools, festivals, libraries, museums, and summer camps across the country by offering exuberant and entertaining performances. Hawk and his wife, Ayal, are the cofounders of Silver Water Retreat, a nonprofit educational center and summer camp, near Boone, North Carolina.

Lindley Sharp was born in Amory, Mississippi, in 1981 and moved to Boone, North Carolina when she was five years old. Lindley's artowrk appears in the children's book, MeeMa's Memory Quilt. One of her mandalas served as the cover art for Hawk Hurst's E.A.R.T.H. Camp program. The illustrations in this book are block prints with colored pencil. Lindley is currently a student at Furman University, Greenville, South Carolina.
