At the age of 8 Rory fell in love with her best friend older brother Huston . Eventhough the feeling wasn't mutual they had their moments when she got older . Is this a friend's to lovers story ? not really but it runs along those lines . I hate to give spoilers : so I'll say that under unfortunate circumstance they ended up together ( poor Rory) and Huston deceptively lets her fall for him and she falls hard. it's amazing how far someone can
take vengeance.
Many years later she doing her thing and sees him again and he's married and he's doing well and sparks are still flying on both their parts . While figuring out their new situation they will face divorce, mental issues, forgiveness, and trust .
There are lots of layers to this read , you'll even get a little grammar lessons along the way. .. Kenny is the well needed comic relief to both of them .
. Huston wow!! is just a good guy after all he's been through and what and how he helps Rory is sweet. This story deals with various emotional issues as well

I liked the story, but it felt like it dragged in certain points of the storyline. I really liked Kenny (Rory's GBF) and
I liked Houston, but it took me a while to get to that point. Rory was kind of a weak heroine and at points in the book I wanted to stop reading because of how ridiculous she was being. But I kept pushing through because I needed a resolution and I'm really happy with how it all turned out.

This book is written in a very unconventional style with many POVs.

I felt for both characters and was rooting for their HEA. This author has serious subject matter and I think it's handled in a way that's not disturbing, just part of life. The writing holds my attention and keeps me wanting more. I bought this book as a set and I loved all three of the books. I love the character development and how the story was played out where it went from past to present. I'm glad I bought it as a sad because I would have gone crazy waiting for the next book to follow in the series to continue on the story. I loved the epilogue in this book as well because it was more than a few paragraphs and it gave a lot of information that I was dying to know.

This is a beautifully written complete love story. I found it a little hard to get in to at the start but once I did I couldn't stop wanting to know not only the ending but the way they got there. Rory has been in love with Houston forever. The story starts five years after they 've broken up .....Lots of twists,tissues,lies and honesty as they work their story to its conclusion. One that will stay with me.

I'm a fan of authors like Cassia Leo where the stories just flow. However the first book depressed me. I thought Houston was a manipulator towards Rory who was still suffering from his betrayal. PTSD etc you name it so initially I really couldn't warm to him. It made me sick with some if the things that happened. Also when he starts pursuing her again. I just didn't feel the love.
Then as it unfolds the lies, the secrets of which are revealed so so many I felt perhaps yes this couple were meant for each other. The characters in this book are fantastic. Just when you thought it was over you find another secret unfolding.
So yes I did enjoy this series but it is a very emotional read. I just felt for Rory she endured so much.
It left me with a heavy heart & actually gave me a headache trying to grip everything that happened.
I don't mean this to be negative but love isn't always a happy read.
