Ginger Mayerson is the author of Dr. Hackenbush Gets a Job and Dr. Hackenbush Gains Perspective, which are not mysteries, but are also set in the Los Angeles of the 1980s. You can find the Hackenbush scene at GM.WapshottPress.com. Or you can get more on Mayerson at www.GingerMayerson.com.

When you then throw in the ever more complicated relationship of Dr. Hackenbush and Eddie Lee, the fine gig at the newly renovated Lotus Room at the Hotel Watanabe in Little Tokyo, the shocking appearance of Ana Phalaxia and pour tequila over the top you will find in hand the third episode of the Hackenbush chronicles. A fine read and a continuing delight.
The issue of Storylandia at hand however, contains a different beast. The author has taken her usual cast of artists and rogues stirred twice and added in everything from murder to Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North. This is a very real urban mystery with just enough foreshadowing and a crushing conclusion.
Let us hope that Ms. Mayerson takes the final step and gives us a full length Hackenbush novel. She has the cast, the setting and the backstory. Given an interesting problem to solve I do believe it would fly out of the ballpark.
