An ABS Handle attachment that allows you to grip a tool higher on the shaft of any long-handled tool, so you stand up straighter-avoiding the awkward bending that is the primary cause of lower back strain and injury. It allows your legs to take the burden off your back. Makes your work easier with Shovels, Snow Shovels, Garden Rakes, Hoes, Pitchforks, Push brooms, Tree Trimmers, Paint Extension Poles, Fishing Poles, Dip Nets and more. Helps prevent injuries on the job. It significantly reduces the bending, leaning and lifting that can lead to back and shoulder fatigue. Fits any long-handled tools and moves easily from one tool to another in minutes. Made from tough, ABS plastic and guaranteed not to break for 2 years. Installs in 2-3 minutes without tools.
Top Customer Reviews
** WOW **
Sure, I had read the reviews, but I was still surprised at what a difference this "tool" made. Last year, the 6" snowfall gave me a sore back by the time I was done shoveling. Fast-forward to this year with a 24" snowfall (and heavy snow, besides). Yes, I was still tired and winded at the end and I spread out the shoveling due to the sheer abundance of snow. But, my back was not sore. My arms were sore, but hey, this is a BackSaver, not an arm saver.
Now for the not-so-good. My BackSaver grip broke before I completed the driveway. The plastic on this tool is quite thick and appears to be very sturdy. I suspect the flimsier handle on the snow shovel may have contributed to this breaking. The break occurred where the curved area begins to straighten back out - the logical place for it to break. I was disappointed, of course and contacted the company. They were quick to answer my email and are sending a replacement grip to me.
So, why 5 stars when it broke on me? Dang...about $10 for a tool that saved me from a sore back and a company that quickly responded to my request (2 year warranty as stated on the package and website). Yup...5-star product.
[update] In the last heavy snow storm, this product broke. It's clearly not able to take the abuse that a shovel is intended for.
