Young Buck is one of my favorite rappers. I’ve been listening to him since 2003 with the G-Unit mixtapes and Beg For Mercy album in December 2003. This is one of the best debut rap albums I’ve heard from anyone and something I wish I had gotten back in summer 2004 when it was released. Unfortunately the official album version of Stomp replaces T.I. with The Game because of the feud Ludacris was having with T.I. at the time for “King of Atlanta” or something like that. YouTube and other online sources have a version of Stomp with all 4 rappers - Young Buck, T.I., The Game, and Ludacris all together on Stomp which is what I would put on this album if I still burned CDs 💿 or copied this album to a flash memory drive. Other standout tracks are the singles “Let Me In” featuring 50 Cent, “Shorty Wanna Ride” produced by Lil’ Jon, “Look At Me Now” featuring Mr. Porter from D-12, “Bonafide Hustler” featuring 50 Cent and Tony Yayo, and “DPG Unit” featuring Daz Dillinger and Snoop Dogg.
It’s kind of funny buying a southern rap album imported from Japan 🇯🇵, but at less than $6 why not? It’s a real classic rap album from G-Unit back when rappers sold records based on skill and quality production instead of mumbling and catchy hooks, other gimmicks.
