From the Inside Flap
Straight Pepper Diet relates to the phrase, Sex is the spice of life. As such, straight pepper diet generally refers to a voracious sexual appetite and overactive sex life. It is generally believed that the phrase was coined by Bill Wilson, the co-founder of Alcoholics Anonymous, in the book he authored, Alcoholics Anonymous, first published in 1939. The phrase straight pepper diet appears only once in The Big Book (as members informally refer to it), on page 69 of the fourth edition. As of 2011, over thirty million copies of Alcoholics Anonymous have been sold, making it one of the best-selling books of all time.

joseph tells his story as an out of control sex and alcohol addict - his fall as a lawyer and a member of society, and his prison stint. I hung on every word. I laughed with him, I cried with him, I shook with anxiety with him, and I celebrated with him.
as a recovering alcoholic, I found myelf indentifying with him on so many levels. I found myself swelling with great pride, as he shares a story that so many others
would choose to try and forget. this story is a living testament to human resiliency.
if you're in recovery, read this book. if you like a solid memoir, read this book. if you feel like your life is out of control and there's no relief in sight, read this book. if you're bored, read this book.
hands down, one of my top 5 favorites.
