Overlooking this is completely ridiculous on Straightalks part, what the hell were they thinking?
Awful. Not only will they be unable to help you , but they will try and string you along so you will give up and hang up.
This is the worst ever. I tried and tried to work with them but there seems to be a conscious effort to just get people to give up and hang up.Not to mention they do not have any sort of command of the King's English.
There are other companies that offer same , I suggest you go with them first.
I hope this helps someone.
I have only used this service when a person that has it calls me. I don't own it but want to chime in that of the 25 reviews listed on Amazon as of today only 3 for sure are for this product and possibly a fourth. Most reviews as of today on Amazon are for the Straight Talk Cell Phone service or for the $45 plan cards.
I just want to point that out to anyone that will be looking at the Home Phone service because the calls made to me from the Straight Talk Home Phone are clear and the owner of the unit recommends I get the Home Phone too.
That is what brings me to this site. I was researching this product and was disappointed to see so many give it a bad review because they are having issues with a different product from this company.
**UPDATE NOVEMBER 26th 2013**
This card is referred to as a "Service PIN" I bought this card and the Home Phone device directly from the Straight Talk website. Straight Talk is a Tracfone company and has very poor customer service like Tracfone. I try to avoid calling and do my own service via the Tracfone website so I figured I would do the same with Straight Talk. When porting (transferring) my number to the Home Phone device I got a message that the Service PIN was already used.
Yes, the card they gave me directly from the Straight Talk company gave me an error that it was already used and not valid as a form of credit or payment.
I was in the middle of the transaction of porting my number, and I know from experience working in the Cell Phone industry that you never ever cancel a port half way through or you could risk having the number get lost in between two companies. So the only other option was to enter a credit card to complete the transaction. So I am out the $15 I paid for this Service PIN card and calls to Straight Talk customer service do not resolve the issue. I am told to wait another billing cycle to see it the Service PIN shows on my account. Basically they don't know what to do so they are giving me the "call back later" put off.
**UPDATE DECEMBER 23rd 2013**
After calling Straight Talk customer service faithfully once a week or more for a month, I finally talked to someone who was actually intelligent and knowledgeable. She tried to give me the save run around at first and told me I must have used the card during activation, but when I insisted I give her my transaction number proving I had activated the device with a credit card she then quickly applied this "service pin" card to my account. It took about six calls to customer service over the period of a month but the issue was resolved. I never worked so long on $15!
The Home Phone Service is excellent. I like it very much. There are a few changes that might take some to get used to, like the caller ID is number only (no name) and call clarity isn't as good as a wired phone but it is costing $15 a month after buying the device. That is about 30% of my wired phone bill.
