I was really excited to get this before my next trip. The carrying case is super cute! (I wish I could keep just the case!) I was excited about the smaller size to be more compact too, and that it was a 2-in-1. But unfortunately because it's 2 in 1, it's not as easy to use as a flat iron. There's a little lock on the bottom that locks the flat iron closed in order to use to curling iron. But there's no way to lock the curling iron when using the flat iron...which means you have to hold it awkwardly to try to use it. Also, the plates don't get close to touching! So unless you have super thick hair (my hair isn't thin by any means!) it just runs through without flattening. The device didn't seem to get super hot either. I left it on for a few more minutes in hopes, but there was no way this could function for what I need it to. :/ Super bummed out. Loved the concept, unfortunately this one is a pass.

The iron heated up pretty quickly. However, the moment I put a small strand of hair in the curling iron barrel and twisted it, the end cap fell off. I tried to put the cap back on, but it was clearly broken off at the screw. This was obviously damaged before it was even sent to me. Also, the stand (2 nibs) built into the iron need to be redesigned. When the iron was sitting on the counter, it kept tipping over whenever the cord was touched and it wouldn't stay in the proper position. The counter top started getting very hot and I was worried it would get damaged from the heat. I also don't want to be constantly watching this thing to make sure it doesn't tip over and burn something. Returning.

Bought this for a 3 week trip to Europe and to also use it for business travel. While it looked like it was in the original packaging, the item I received was clearly a used and damaged item. The barrel had some sort of brown residue on it which looked like dried hair product. Fine. The overall size of the iron is smaller than regular irons, much better for travel AND the curl barrel/flat plates are almost the same length as my full size irons! The barrel is 1 inch diameter and has a clip that is easy to open and holds the hair. The carrying case is cute and convenient and the iron is easy to use. The only thing I would add to this appliance is an adjustable heat setting. It heats to 374 degrees, which is fine for flat ironing, but a little too hot for my hair for curling. ( I have medium fine hair.) When the iron got to it's hottest I turned the power off and was able to finish my whole head as it cooled so problem solved! I can switch back and forth between curling and flat ironing while the iron is on to hold my shorter pieces of hair that wouldn't stay in the flat plates. Bonus!
