I guess it's an okay film. It is a children's film, but I kind of liked it. I think my favorite character was the opossum with the perpetual grin. I wish the film had had more of his flavor because that character did make me laugh.
I'm glad I saw it, but it's probably not something I'd see again.
Check it out with the family.
The characters were well designed, and the animation was superb.
I knew it was a musical, but just about the whole movie is singing. A lot of singing... so much that it made parts confusing and nonsensical for us.
I have enjoyed other musicals, but this one was a little over the top for me.
Personal preference is what makes the world go around, and this one just wasn't my cup of tea. It might be yours.
2nd viewing went very well despite having seen it but a short time ago. 3rd time will also be good methinks.
Once again, I don't like computer animation but as far as it goes this CG was WAY better than Frozen, the characters were more fun and interesting in both personality and design. Despite the fact it was all pop music I think the music was way better in Strange Magic (seriously, how does anyone like the songs from Frozen? They are horrible!) and the vocals in it are really great!
I will definitely continue to enjoy this movie and recommend it to others.
Anyone who has, lives with, or works with children can relate to their tendency to want to watch the same movie over and over for a season. In our household I more so than the kids tend to be the one pushing for frequent playbacks but I am out numbered by 3 little boys who are still in their dinosaur & train phase.
Not a waste of time, give it a try....
