Strange Magic part one has me hooked! Wow! I need part two now! This has all the making of what has started out as a fantastical paranormal story in the heart of New Orleans. This book will take you to the streets of New Orleans where you will fall in love with Thyme and her unique Creole heritage and the sights and sounds of the bountiful Louisiana. This book introduces us to a country star named Billy Blade who is hot sexy and knows how to work a crowd with his amazing talent. This is a first paranormal book for Mankin but she can write anything because as much as I love her rocking romances this paranormal book is sure to please and I can't wait to get my hands on part two!
Strange Magic Part two is the most unique paranormal book I have ever read! I love paranormal and this book is like most of Mankin's other books with a hot sexy country singer named Billy Blade, it is modern but with a twist this book blends today with the mystical past. The main female character is unique in her own right, she is a creole beauty a sweet sensual girl named Thyme Bellerose. In a wink of an eye the story will transform you into a magical world filled with intrigue and mystery, it is as if it started on a black and white TV and then becomes this amazing technicolor world in which we meet the most unique fantastical characters. The book is so detailed that you will feel as if you are walking the cobblestone streets of New Orleans and smell the rich aroma of the beautiful bountiful city that it truly is. Must read 5- magical stars
Strange Magic (Magic Series) draws you in with its synopsis & prologue. I love the concept behind this paranormal romance. I absolutely love that each chapter begins with background music when lyrics are presented. Well detailed world building descriptions & settings. I loved the originality of the narrative with its astonishing plot twists and character's progression. I loved the greek mythology interwoven within the narrative behind the backdrop of magical New Orleans during Mardi Gra. I love the twist of a rocker romance with a paranormal aspect. Exotic Creole Beauty Tyme Bellaroae is my favourite character. A beautiful love story with perfect narration.
Narrators Kai Kennicott and Wen Ross narrate this magical tale in a way that brings the character's to life. A flawless performance from my favourite duo. I love their voices as they give the right amount of mystical feel. Spoken clearly, with each character having their own voice and conveying so much emotion in their story telling.
Looking forward to listening to book two where the struggle to integrate dark and light continues.
I absolutely love Billy Blade. He is a musician, a big star in the music industry! He parties and enjoys his fast life. Although there are reasons he enjoys it that are not shown quickly! There are very few people he trusts. He has a huge heart and loves so completely! I absolutely adore him! He has quite a few secrets that you will have to read the story to find out!!!
Thyme is wonderful and absolutely surprised the hell out of me. On a regular basis I was surprised with the twists in this story. Her dreams are coming true and she is a happy woman when tragedy strikes. The things she is willing to do to protect those she loves is astonishing and brave. I adore her friends and family.
This book had some wonderfully complex themes happening. I loved the fact that it felt like I was in NOLA!!! There are many other surprises that I loved but I do not want to give anything away. Do yourself a favor and pick up this 5 star book as soon as you can!! It will keep you interested from the beginning and is not a super short read that you will run through super fast. This story is jam packed with action! It was nice to get to read a book that lasted longer than an afternoon. I am going to be waiting for the next book to read the minute I get it. Thank you very much Michelle Mankin for your wonderful story!! I will be waiting!!! Reviewed for HeadTripping Books by April.

I love how Kai and Wen always seem to become the characters and bring them to life in a way that is new everytime I hear them narrate.
