Mac is a musician. He's on a mission and will stay in Templeton Cove until he's succeeded. Mac's late father was adopted and Mac is looking for his grandmother, the woman his father never managed to meet. Mac is a city guy, but when he meets Kate and spends some time in Templeton Cove he starts to see the appeal of living in a small town. While Mac isn't in Templeton Cove to heal, it's something that just might happen because of Kate's loving influence and confronting honesty. Will he be able to find happiness again after everything he's been through?
A Stranger in the Cove is a heartwarming story about love, loss, grief, anger and hope. Mac is Kate's type, but that's why she's careful with him. She doesn't want to fall for the wrong man and carefully guards her heart. She's been hurt in the past and has been through a lot, just like Mac. They're kindred spirits and they're perfect for each other. However, Mac still has a lot of anger to get through first. It was beautiful to see how Kate helps him to find light in his life once more. Their relationship doesn't have an easy start and I was really curious to see where it would lead.
Rachel Brimble's writing has a wonderful flow. I love Templeton Cove, it's a fantastic small town with interesting inhabitants. I was immediately intrigued by Mac's mission and couldn't wait to find out more about his grandmother. Kate can help Mac with his search, but she doesn't accept it when he's behaving badly because of his grief. She clearly sets her boundaries and I admired her courage. I loved how Rachel Brimble makes them interact with each other and the dialogue is fabulous. A Stranger in the Cove is another amazing Templeton Cove book, it's captivating and incredibly romantic.
A stranger has arrived at Templeton Cove looking for someone. There is anger and hurt in Mac Orman's heart and he is seeking answers to questions that only a certain resident of the Cove can answer. His late father had been searching for his birth mother but never made contact with her. And, now it was too late. So Mac is in Templeton Cove to finish the job. Mac meets Kate Harrington who is fiercly protective of her friends in the Cove and senses that Mac's arrival at the Cove will hurt someone she is close to. Someone she loves dearly. Initially their relationship is one of suspicion and wariness of one another. However, as Mac struggles with his decision to confront his biological grandmother and give her a piece of his mind about her decision to give up her son, Mac's father for adoption, he soon finds another distraction in Kate Harrington who is fighting her own demons while trying to protect her friend.
Dealing with the sensitive issue of adoption, Rachel Brimble has managed to write such an appealing yet heart-wrenching story. A story of love, loss, grief and searching for belonging. A belonging that can only be found in Templeton Cove.................and in a special type of person. Templeton Cove wraps a warm and protective arm around its residents creating the sense of family and belonging that those who are lost can find. People like Mac and Kate. The pair, despite an attraction to one another, appear to rub each other up the wrong way from their initial meeting. Yet their histories and heartache draw them to one another. Mac is a brooding musician and Kate a caring charity worker. They both need one another. This is a brilliant ending to the Templeton Cove series and there were a few times when emotion got the better of me and I did shed a few tears. Wonderfully written and highly recommended.
Kate and Mac are both headstrong and stubborn and clash from the get go but they soon come to realise that something electric is buzzing between them and move from enemies to lovers, one of my favorite genres to read about.
I love how Rachel Brimble writes her stories full of hope and love with some gripping storylines that leave you with plenty to think about long after you have finished. This was a great story that I just didn't want to end as it's the last book in the Templeton Cove series. I loved it so much.
A brilliant 5 Star read!
