Nova goes where others dare not. She shoots first, talks little, and carries a chip on her shoulder the size of Boullion 5. Her reckless courage is all that stands between the Ancients and the annihilation of the human race.
I have all the series and I was totally not disappointed. It's nice to have a female heroine!
A failed escape attempt results in one of them being beaten nearly to death. The local "people-healer" is unwilling to treat this "Dishonorable Man" so his care is given to an animal healer.
There is (of-course) an Evil leader and he is interested in learning of the sophisticated Technology Nova and her Space-men friends have. He promises to grant freedom to Nova and her friends in exchange for this technology. Nova (and we) know how much you can trust these evil rulers. Nova makes another escape attempt which results in even worse treatment for them all, including an outcast native whom she is befriending.
There is another evil rogue leader on this planet trying to take control from the existing ruler and this may be the best chance of escape for our friends.
This book may be read and enjoyed on it's own but is much more enjoyable when you've read the earlier books. If you haven't, once you finish this book you will, (go back and read the earlier books) and you won't have to suffer through waiting for the next books to be published as I did.
