Abby's pain from what happened to her comes through so well that you feel as though it actually happened to you. And when Bryce tells her about his loss you can see her compassion and understanding for what he's going through too. I loved seeing how these two broken souls came together to heal each other, even if their fear and stuborness to try for something more could have ruined them. I cried with them, laughed with them, and felt what their were both feeling like it was happening to me.
The cover for this story was too dark, not very hopeful at all when there's an HEA. There was no proofreading in this supposedly edited new edition. There are words missing, bad grammar (possessive vs plural, your/you're) and there's still strange formatting. Also I thought the dreams were a little heavy handed and the whole meet-cute (you look so familiar) was unnecessary.
I wasn't all that crazy about the pacing, but I did get sucked into the emotion of the book.
It was full of emotion, and kept me rooting for the two main characters the entire time. There was never a dull moment. I was eager to read what was going to happen next and it wasn't one of those completely predictable stories that you get bored with eventually. No, this book was very well written. The characters were very likable and it was enjoyable from beginning to end.
This was my first introduction to Author Anne L. Parks and I am very pleased with it. I will definitely be reading her other books. This book was a standalone, so rest assured you won't be left with any cliffhangers.
Thank you Anne for the awesome read!
