From the Author
Welcome to the Reunion Gap series. I'm so glad you've decided to join me as we head to the small town of Reunion Gap, Pennsylvania. If you've read my work before, you know I love writing about hope and second chances in small towns where the residents have known their share of heartache and betrayal. I grew up in a small town in northwestern Pennsylvania, so it feels very natural for me to write about a place where everybody knows everybody and a handshake is your word. And I know all about close families and sibling dynamics, and that blasted pecking order! (Can you tell I'm a middle child?) But I also know about sticking together, and that while my brothers and sister and I live hundreds of miles away from that little town in Pennsylvania, it is still part of us, it will always be part of us, because that's where we learned the true meaning of family and friendship, and the importance of honoring your word.
From the Inside Flap
Rogan is very trustworthy...he's honest, humble, and kind-hearted.
He does right by others, no matter what.
Oh, but my son is intelligent. Do you know he passed his CPA exam the first time?
And after they'd spent an hour together, she'd sneak in a few more thoughts.
I don't like to see him all alone.
He's got so much to give, but he needs someone to give it to...
He could have his choice of women, but I think he's waiting for the right one...
You just never know when or how the right one will come along, do you?
You know what I think, Elizabeth? Big smile, followed by a sparkle in her eyes. I think my son needs someone like you.
Yes, indeed I do.
Most of what Elizabeth knew of Rogan Donovan, she'd learned from his mother, or his aunt, but little had come from the man himself. Maybe it was time to seek him out. How was she ever going to right the wrongs her father had committed if she couldn't get close enough to let him see she was a decent person who wanted to help? He didn't seem like the kind of man who'd take charity, but it wasn't charity. It was payback for money that was stolen from his father. She had to find a way...and she would.

What a wonderful and enthralling new series Mary Campisi has started in the small town of Reunion Gap. It is lighthearted, heartwarming, moving, and thornily engaging from beginning to end. I couldn't put it down.
Love, deceit, vengeance, repayment for past sins, family dysfunction, secrets, lies, truths, infidelity and honor all are a part of this gem of a novel.
The author has written a novel with characters that are not only realistic and relatable, but she brings out their flaws in such a way that they are able to be pushed aside by their strengths. She shows the weariness that exists in a town that once was devastated by a stranger long ago and is still suffering the repercussions.
The numerous plot lines are not only interesting but more than feasible. They ring true as the reader learns more and more and the many facets which make up each one. They are all intermingled so well that it makes this novel richer and stronger.
I loved all of the main characters and what they brought to one another's lives but also for who they were as individuals. There is still more to learn about the residents of Reunion Gap and the town itself. Waiting for the next book in the series is the only negative I can come up with...and I will be (im)patiently waiting. 😊
Any reader who has read any of the author's books, know how well written they are. And the first book in this series will not disappoint, that I can guarantee.
