I have never seen anything else like it! The messages in this book are real and from a combat veteran to help other veterans and transitioning military service members in college.
I am thankful to have read this book. I recommend it to be in ALL national and international military base libraries, AAFES PX/BX, and TAP Workshops! Trust me, it's that good!
I'm currently in the process of being medically discharged. Since I was planning to serve 20 years in the military, we weren't ready to live a civilian life. The thought of going to school was daunting, but I knew I needed to earn my degree in order to maintain the lifestyle my family is accustomed to. I picked up this book and every time I read a page or two my mind was blown. There is so much I didn't know. Dave explains how to be a successful college student in a way so anyone with the military mindset will understand.
I also believe this book can be beneficial to a student, who does not have a military background. After reading this life-changing guide to college, I realize why I didn't succeed in college the first time around. I dropped out after my first semester and believed I was not smart enough for college.
The bottom line is now I not only of the knowledge and mindset to be a successful student, but I also have the confidence. Thank you Dave for putting this information out there. Words cannot express how much I appreciate it.
The author does a great job from a very technical and strategic way for veterans and transitioning military students in college.
As a student veteran in my sophomore year, this book gave me some great insights with strategies for my academic career. One very important concept the author makes is when he mentioned that no school will create a plan for your entire academic career, for you! This is true, especially in larger universities.
Overall, this was a very well written book that will benefit anyone who reads it. It benefited me and I am going to continue using it as needed for my classes.
