This is a great DVD. Thank you Canadian Broadcasting Company for doing this! It catches Stravinsky conducting his own work, which I would argue is how it is supposed to be played/ heard.

This is one of three actual documentaries on the greatest composer of the 20th Century. (Sadly, one of these documentaries is not yet on DVD.)

This is a must have for any serious student of Stravinsky and Classical music in general.

After I was turned on by "The Rite of Spring" documentary by "Great Masterpieces," I wanted to learn everything about Stravinsky. This video revealed the author as a very humble person with a single purpose in life: music. This was so refreshing as opposed the big heads celebrities develop after becoming famous.

Igor Stravinsky may be the greatest composer of the 20th century.
To see him "up close" [as I once did about 40 years ago] is a fabulous experience.

I watched this and it was everthing I expected, a day in the life of the maestro composer. It is excellent.
