Building on the success of the original Wave street surfing casterboard, the Whiplash Wave scooter continues to combine the natural fluidity of surfing with the maneuverability of snowboarding and skating. Offering a revolutionary new way to ride, the Whiplash Wave Scooter's flexing deck and handlebar fuse together to provide riders with a cool, side to side, whip-like ride. And you can self-propel the scooter so that your feet never touch the ground or ride it like a traditional scooter. The Whiplash Wave Scooter only takes a few minutes to learn, and after a few hours most riders become proficient.

The scooter handle adds an extra dimension to the tricks you can perform with the Whiplash Wave.

The handle folds for easy storage.
The platform is made of a virtually indestructible yet nicely lightweight ABS plastic, and it features a steel torsion bar that controls the flexible front and rear panels and never wears down. Other hardware features a rear caster wheel with ABEC 7 bearings and an extra long handle folds for easy travel and storage.

How to Ride the Whiplash

  1. Place the Whiplash on a slight downward slope.

Place foot in the center of the back platform and position the scooter so that it is level with the ground.

  2. Push with your front foot and lean your weight forward.

Look straight ahead. Straighten your body and bend your knees slightly.

  3. Immediately after pushing off, start the twisting motion.

To achieve an "S" shape, move your shoulders and your hips back and forth in opposing directions. Swing your back foot repeatedly left to right and self propel your Whiplash Scooter without ever putting your foot on the ground.

My nine year old son received the Whiplash Scooter for his birthday. This is his second scooter. He loves this one because he can do so much more with it. He rides it up and down the sidewalk without ever touching the ground and he does these really cool turns he couldn't do on his other scooter. It is really well made too.

We gave this to our son for his 7th birthday. He absolutely loves it. It was simple to assemble right out of the box. He can't get enough of it and his friends are jealous!! It was a great find.

This is put together well. My son is excited about it. Fits someone who is about 12yrs old real well. It is hard to get useto at first. Balancing is diferent from a regular scooter.

The frame is just not stiff enough to hold up to the body motions that are needed to use it as a self-propelled surf caster and the same holds true as just a scooter; flexes a ton. It is a fun little ride but I would recommend the razor powerwing instead; that is a ton of fun and while it costs more, it is much more sturdy and probably more durable.

and great scooter for the 28.99 price. We bought one for each of our older kids ages 9 and 11 and one for our 9 year old nephew for his birthday. The kids got the hang of it quickly but already knew how to ride a Rip Stick, so we think that helped.

My son has been begging for this scooter for months after trying it out at a friend's house. In fact, at his friend's house, the Whiplash is the most popular scooter/bike/skateboard on their street. We bought it for our son for his 7th birthday and he has had a blast with it. He likes that it's similar to a Razor RipStik Ripster, but easier to ride because of the handle bars and standard scooter type front wheel. Yet the back caster wheel makes it a lot more fun to ride than a standard scooter and lets him do some of the same tricks as you can do on a RipStik. All the hardware was present (thankfully!) and my husband was able to put it together without any problems. I almost bought this at Wal-Mart, but it turned out their price was $10 higher than Amazon's!
