Alana and Ryan met when they were young. Their relationship was short, intense and passionate. He was good for the closed hearted Alana, and they fell completely into an all encompassing love where Ryan made all the best promises. Until inexplicably, he disappeared.
Strip Me Bare, for me was a relatively easy read. There was all the feels from laughter to anger, to just enough anguish not to drown me in sorrow, because Alana’s devastation and heartbreak happened in the past. When she finally came across Ryan again, what we saw from her was anger, pure and simple. And that is where I think we could all relate:
“Am I okay?” I repeat, “Am I okay?” I yell shoving him away. ... “No I am not effing okay! I spent the last five years wondering what the hell happened to you. And when I finally find you, you’re, you’re..” I can barely breathe out the words. “Jack the effing stripper?”
And Ryan? A male revue performer he may be, but he mixes up all that hot, semi-nude, tasselled meat and two vege in the most romantic and persistent, yet vulnerable book boyfriend that any woman could desire. Unfortunately, as in-love with that package that Alana may be, she knows that’s not who her father wants to see her with. Especially as Dad the high court judge has already met him in his official capacity!
Their path to love and a future is not an easy one, especially when family tend to throw you under the bus to make living their own lives easier, you know, in the actions without consequences kind of way. And for Alana, she had some amazing family on her side.
If you love those second chance romances with hot heroes who work their backsides off to prove to the women they love that they are worth a second chance, then this is definitely for you. Great read that moved at a great pace.

"...showing emotion isn't weakness, it's strength."
What a fantastic second chance romance by M. Never. Ryan and Alana's story is filled with ups and downs and tears that will make your heart ache. Never a dull moment that's for sure.
Blurb: Alana falls in love for Ryan and suddenly he disappears. She runs into him 5 years later during a friend's bachelorette party at a strip club. Ryan is determined to never lose Alana again. Will his profession be a problem? Will family be the problem? What about trust?
• The book is on the longer side
• The connection between Ryan and Alana
• How Ryan is so possessive of Alana • How Alana is so strong and level headed to handle everything thrown her way
• Ryan's love for his family
• The oh so steamy scenes
• Long chapters (I can't put a book down in the middle of a chapter so when it's 2am and yeah you get the picture...haha) that is literally the only thing I disliked.
Hope and disappointment, hurt and anger, surprise, forgiveness, desperation, love and acceptance and tons of sexy fun. The list could go on, but I think you get the point.
Ryan hurt Alana, she wasn't quick to forgive, she was methodical and made him earn her trust again. When Ryan was in trouble you could feel the desperation rolling off of Alana to stand by him and help. You could feel her (Alana) anger with her father, you could taste his (Ryan) despair over his brother. I loved these characters, not just the MCs, but the entire cast of side characters as well. The story was extremely well told and it was so believable, this could be your family, these could be your friends. There wasn't a single contrived thing about this story.
M. Never fans, prepared to be wowed!
As part of the Launch team, I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC of this book.
Sigh... I'm beginning to realize that M. Never is just my kind of writer - with her works I know that I'm going to get a great balance of heat, angst, and emotion (and apparently, she has a thing with twins). In Strip Me Bare, she deals with the longevity and strength of first love, the agony of drug addiction, the scars of emotional ambivalence, and the grief of the loss of a parent - all with a little Magic Mike action thrown in there. I'm not gonna lie, this wasn't my favorite from her so far; I had a hard time vibing with Alana and because the book is told in first person POV from her standpoint, I don't feel we got to know Ryan as well as we could've. But I still really enjoyed the book. It wasn't as heartbreaking in the end as Ghostface Killer and Moto, so if you're new to her work I highly recommend Strip Me Bare to pop your M. Never cherry. I give the book 3.75 out 5 wine glasses.
