I received a copy of this book from Netgalley for an honest review.

Stripped Down, by Anne Marsh, was a fun read. I quite like Angel and Rose. The story is told from both points of view and it is not a second chance romance, they did know each other when they were younger but nothing really happened. Overall I enjoyed this story and the characters, I found the writing style a bit erratic but its still intrigued me till the very end. I wanted to know how Angel and Rose end up together. I found Angel to be a gruff Alpha male, and Rose to be independent minded, all though it did seem she gave in way too quickly at times. I wish there was a bit more story and character development but I find myself saying that about so many books these days. This was good lazy day read.
PS I would like to say that I wish the author spent a bit more time on the ending.

This is Book 1 of a new series Lonesome Cowboys. Angel is the older brother and in charge of a huge ranch in Lonesome. The book doesn't go very deep about his experiences in Afghanistan but he suffers from nightmares from his experiences. Rose comes back to the small town with a friend to open a tattoo shop. What she doesn't know is that Angel is half owner of the place where she wants to open it.
Angel and Rose have a long story and both want to be in control. Rose has also a traumatic past.
I enjoyed the book but maybe there are too many subjects and harsh experiences to fully enjoy the book.
Angel has two brothers and I am looking forward to their stories.

I received an Arc in exchange for an honest review.

I received a free copy for an honest review through Netgalley.

This book would benefit from better editing. So many typos it was distracting.

I just couldn't get into the book. It didn't grab my attention and I actually struggled to finish it. I ended up skimming through some of it and still didn't feel like I missed very much. It was just okay. I couldn't really feel any connection between Angel and Rose.

We get to find out Rose’s dark secret but not Angel’s. It is alluded to, but nothing concrete.

I just couldn't get into the book. It didn't grab my attention and actually struggled to keep my attention for most of the book. I ended up skimming through it and still didn't feel like I missed very much. It was just okay....I couldn't really feel any connection between the two main characters.

As a hot, sexy dominant alpha male, Angel Mendoza knows how to take control and take what he wants. Besides the deep seated need to make his generational ranch prosper for the sake of his family and the men who work the land, Angel desires one other thing...to have Rose Jordan and make her his. Angel and Rose have had a searing hot attraction for each other since she was 16 and jailbait to him, but he has waited but he won't wait any longer. He wants Rose and there is nothing that is going to stop him, including Rose herself.

Rose is looking for to start her own tattoo business and finally call a place home. When her Aunt Dee passes and leaves her half of her home,. Rose feels this is finally her chance to have the life she has dreamed and fought for. The only person standing in her way is Angel Mendoza. The only man she has ever loved.

Angel and Rose are two damaged individuals who come together in a clash of sex and emotions that may just burn them. Who will give and who will take? Who will run and who will be destroyed?

Anne Marsh can always be expected to provide hot, hot, hot sex and passion. This is one story in which the characters are fighting sexual tension as well as their own stubborn ideas. Her use of past traumas to create their damaged souls and how one can over come that for the good while the other is still struggling is interesting. I would like to see more books with the characters of J.J and Axel, Angel's brothers as well as Rory, Rose's friend. I can just bet there would be a dark and erotic story for Rory involved. I don't know if this is to be a series or not, but I would love to see that happen.

As always, I recommend any of Anne Marsh's books. I always enjoy them.

STRIPPED DOWN-A CAPTIVATING ROMANTIC STORY

This story focuses on Angel, a heart-stopping gorgeous cowboy, ex-soldier, and wealthy ranch owner; Rose, a sassy, blonde beauty and tattoo artist.

What you'll find in this story; a cast of impressive and engaging characters, fantastic story-line, picturesque and dynamic vivid scene descriptions, phenomenal banter, pent-up tension, heart-rending moments, family love, emotions spiral, earth-shattering toe-curling sensual romance, and a melt your heart ending leaving you wanting more.

Rose left Lonesome, Ca. when she was sixteen, and Angel told her she was his if she ever returned. Angel never contacted Rose when she was of age because he wanted her to come to him; he knew she had to come back because her aunt lived in Lonesome. Both of them never really got over their untold romantic feelings. Rose’s aunt has passed on, leaving half her land to Rose and the other half to Angel. Rose does not want to sell her half as that was her home and she wants to run a tattoo business there too, but Angel needs the land for the water to save his ranch. Angel doesn’t do relationships, but losing Rose again is not an option, and he believes he has a plan to get exactly what he wants.

FABULOUS-fast paced creative read by a gifted author. The characters come alive with fantastic dialogue, humor, and a bit of drama. I loved Angel, though he was a tough alpha male he did have a sweet side, and I loved Rose's sassiness. The romance sizzles to a slow passionate burn, and is filled with undying devotion. This was a enjoyable read, loved it. If you treasure fantasy romance this is certainly a good book for your library. I was gifted this book, and this is my honest review. In the world of fantasy romance the possibilities are endless and always fascinating. Without reservations I recommend this book.
