Classic early 80s English punk. Note that this release includes the 1981 EP "Neu Smell" in addition to the 1983 album, but the track listings, both on Amazon above and on the CD label, are incorrect. There are 17 tracks on the album, the last five are the Neu Smell EP. The correct names for the last five tracks are:

13: Sick Butchers
14: Background of Malfunction
15: Neu Smell: Intro Poem
16: Tube Disaster
17: Neu Smell: Outro Poem

Note further that the order of the Neu Smell tracks doesn't match the order from the original release. They put the songs from side two first, and then got the names all confused.

This is one of the greatest, rawest,in your face anarcho-political albums of all times. It combines Crass-like

topics-in a little less emphatical way -with corrosive hardcore punk,

full of guitar feedback and shouting ,characteristic of this style. There are, nonetheless, some twisted melodic lines

along, which gives this band their unique and peculiar sound.I really can't reccomend this highly enough, and if you

can put up with some less than perfect sound,¨Live Statement¨features all of these songs at a live performance in Nottingham, versions being even rawer, especially the singing.Bear in mind,though,Strive...has a rather uneven tonal quality to it,so an equalizer is mandatory to unleash the astonishingly authoritative drumming delivered by the

drummer,it does'nt get better than this,mind you

Flux of Pink Indians...a great & some would say a more palatable version of Crass. This is obviously "Strive to Survive..." & "Neu Smell". Every track here is catchy & thought provoking, except THE LAST 5 TRACKS!!! Now superficially it's true to the track listing in the "Neu Smell" ep. Now if you listen those tracks you'll notice that it's not physically (if that made any sense since it's a digital download) the proper order. After an hour of frustration & head scratching this is what I came up with.

13. Poem: Sick Butchers, 14. Background Malfunction, 15. Neu Smell, 16. Tube Disasters, 17. Poem: End. Now keep in mind these are the actual track titles...just all in the wrong order. I would have given this album *****, but mis-titled tracks are unforgivable!

Amazon needs to correct this!!!
