From the Publisher

"With a Stroke of the Pen" by Kimbra Leigh is printed as a high-quality, 6x9 trade paperback. The cover and binding have been produced to hold up under wear, and the pages and type font are easy on the eyes.

The main character depicted on the cover is Kimbra Leigh's mother, Dee, and the face in the window is a photo of Kimbra when she was twenty. The book was self-published to fulfill a promise Kimbra made to a passed on friend, Joseph Dalrymple. He was twenty-five years old. Joseph's last letter to Kimbra and a brief description of their unique friendship can be found in the first pages of the book.

"WSP" truly is an enjoyable read for both men and women, and is perfect for any teen experiencing true love for the first time. And for those of us who have already had this marvelous experience, we'll step back in time with Kaitlyn, as she takes us on her journey, side-by-side with her.

It started out REALLY well, but then the consecutive chapters were just so boring. I kept skipping ahead to see who wrote the letter, but honestly, I don't care that bad. When I read a book, I want it to capture me at some point. I read 25% into it and I was still barely making it. I hate giving books bad ratings, but I just did not like this one at all.

This is a romantic story about first loves and second chances. It takes place in 1950 from the perspective of a high school student and is a retrospect from a 68-year-old woman in 2000. Without giving too much away, this 18-year-old girl has all the over-the-top emotions that all teenage girls have. She falls deeply, madly, passionately, desperately in love. I felt like I was there, in 1950 wearing a poodle skirt and a pony tail, dancing to the tunes on the juke box. I laughed, I cried and I couldn't put the book down until the end, which (by the way) left no loose ends untied. If you're a romantic and you can read the story without trying to copy edit (there are a lot of errors in spelling and grammar), then you will love it. The characters are well described and easy to love (even mom and dad are loveable).

Why is this book getting such good reviews? I read 6-7 books a week. This took me 3 days because it just dragged on. I felt no real connection to the book, just a incomplete teenage romance. The plot is obvious. The main character kaitlyn is annoying. If i had to read we are so in love, or more in love, or just the word love one more time I'm sure i would puke. What an overdramatic book. Worst off the wording is jovunial. Don't waste your time on this it does not get better

Yes, anyone who has had a "first love" can identify with the butterflies, etc., and look back on these memories with fondness. I would put this book in the same category as a Nicholas Sparks novel in that it is simple, simply written, and not provoking deep thought. It's a quick read, enjoyable.

I tried about 4 times to get into this novel, but failed each time.It was not particularly exciting or even interesting.
Maybe a reader who enjoys slow paced, cobweb spinning novels will appreciate it.
I did not. Sorry

I really enjoyed this book. SPOILER ALERT - I had to keep reading to find out why Ray left. I felt Kait's pain in the writing. During the time transitions, I could see this being made into a movie.

The story line was OK but I got bored with the description of each day. It was like a filler for a story that didn't have that much to it.
