The main character depicted on the cover is Kimbra Leigh's mother, Dee, and the face in the window is a photo of Kimbra when she was twenty. The book was self-published to fulfill a promise Kimbra made to a passed on friend, Joseph Dalrymple. He was twenty-five years old. Joseph's last letter to Kimbra and a brief description of their unique friendship can be found in the first pages of the book.
