About the Author
Dr. William H. Farrell is a Licensed Psychologist-Doctorate with over 35 years experience, who worked for many years in private practice in South Burlington, Vermont. He was raised in Connecticut, where he was a football and track standout at Wilton High School and also managed to get his private pilot's license at age 18. While attending Wesleyan University he concentrated on Olympic style weightlifting and progressed to place fourth in the Teenage Nationals and qualified for the 1964 Olympic Trials. Because steroids were legal at the time and it wasn't possible to be competitive without using them, he decided to stop competitive lifting and immersed himself further in the study of psychology and earned a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Vermont. His specialties included forensic psychology and individual psychotherapy with an interest in stress management. Dr. Farrell consulted to the State of Vermont Disability Determination Services for 26 years and is currently employed as a psychology consultant to the State of North Carolina Disability Determination Services. Never one to give up sport or exercise, after age 60 Dr. Farrell completed two marathons. He has set world records in the 198 and 220 lb. weight classes for the 65-69 age group in powerlifting and won the 100% Raw World Powerlifting Championship in 2010, 2011 and 2012. website-http:/www.strongbrainsstrongbodies.com
