Product Description

StrongArm gas charged lift supports are custom engineered and manufactured beyond industry standards to provide smooth operation and durability. The hardened chromium plated steel shaft is precision ground and polished for superior corrosion resistance and leak free sealing. The self cleaning piston assembly automatically opens during each compression cycle to keep the orifice clear of fluid contaminants and provide smoother operation and reliable performance. Most units also utilize StrongArm's patented temperature compensation module valve which ensures consistent operation even in extreme weather conditions. It does so by compensating for normal gas pressure changes caused by temperature variations. The metallic upper bushing is manufactured with bearing quality precision to provide exact fit with pistion rod and promote a long operating life.

Bought these to replace back glass lift supports on an 02 Jeep Liberty Limited. These are so easy to replace and only took me approx 5 minutes to remove old ones and install new. They are really stiff and it takes a bit of force to get the back glass closed but its nice not having the glass hit me in my head evertime I need something out of the back.

When I realized how easy and affordable it was to replace all the lift struts on my vehicles, I sprang to action. These struts fit my '03 Jeep Liberty perfectly and they are strong! I read someone else complain about difficulty closing the rear window with these, but I have to say--it's a Jeep. It needs to be tough and these struts really agree with me and my expectations of my Jeep.

These are certainly stiff when you get them, but I can't believe someone couldn't close the hatch due to them. They installed easily and lift the hatch up well. The travel appears to be perfect for an 02 Liberty.

Much better than getting banged in the head by the glass.

Perect fit, total installation time is about 5 mins. Glass opens smoothly and is sort of hard to close, but im sure it will wear in properly. Thanks!

The rear window of my 2002 Jeep Liberty now opens like the day I got it. It is harder to close (of course) but it only feels that way because the last set was dead. Good quality.

These worked better than I imagined. Very easy to replace old ones, and as strong as these are, I honestly believe only one is really needed to lift the glass.

"Strongarm" is the right name for these, as you'll need one to close the glass with two of them installed. They do also really snap the glass up fast, which is nice but also a little too powerful. Like the other reviewer, I think they put too much pressure on the hinges. Also, in the last inch or so of their extension travel, they make a grinding sound just before they reach the fully extended position. Overall quality is questionable, but it might be a you get-what-you-pay-for thing..

Easiest thing I've ever done. Jeep Liberty rear glass wouldn't even pop up anymore because the old lift supports had run out of life. After reading reviews for this product, I decided to only purchase one of these, because the consensus seems to be that they are so powerful that with two brand new ones, the glass will fly up way too fast. Replacing just one worked great, and was the easiest thing I've ever done. Each end of the old lift support has a little clip that you remove by pulling it with a pair of pliers. Once the clip is off, the support itself comes right off.

JUST WATCH YOUR HEAD!! The glass is pretty heavy, and without the lift support you kind of either have to have a partner hold it up or find creative ways to do it yourself. I balanced it on my head while I worked. Cool, huh? Anyway, then you put the new lift support in place and snap the clips back in. The whole thing, start to finish, took maybe three minutes. Now the rear glass lifts like it's supposed to. Awesome!
