I have spinal stenosis and as a result, sitting for too long a time results in extreme lower back, glut and hamstring tightness. The best solution for me is a work station that allows for changes between a standing seated position.Previously, I had a standing-only desk with a stool and cushioned floor mat, but I only noticed a real benefit to that mat when standing on it barefoot as it was more comfortable than the concrete floor. But it never really aided my back. When I changed jobs, I purchased a rising piston-supported desk here on Amazon by TaoTronics, which is great, and this balance board. I’ve been using it for two weeks now, and I must say, it’s been very helpful. The bubble-like cushy surface feels good on my feet when I’m standing on it in my socks, but I have no problems using it with shoes on either, I just lose the benefit of the textured surface. The balancing point is not extremely fine, so don’t expect an ab work out or anything too challenging to stand on. I normally use it with the very outer edge of each side of the board through the middle of each foot when positioned horizontally-about shoulder width apart. Though this likely isn’t the recommended method since you’re foot could slip off, I find I get a more comfortable foot width this way and when I rock, get more motion. If I am experiencing any tightness, just get bored or am feeling kind of funky, I like to rock back-and-forth from side to side. This activates lower back and leg muscles helping with blood flow and preventing muscle tightness. From time to time I will rotate it to what I call the vertical position, or where it’s a long ways front to back. In this motion I can sway forward to backwards creating somewhat of a walking-style motion that changes the way the leg muscles activate.I’ve had several people around the office ask me about it and try it out and I’m pretty sure this company will be receiving a few more orders in the coming weeks. It’s not cheap, but if you’re considering a traditional standing mat for anything other than foot fatigue, I would recommend going this route for a few more dollars. I do believe that this is far more worth the money. It has solid construction, a comfortable top and gives your legs something to do while at your desk. I do kind of wish it was a tad bit wider, but that’s asking quite a bit from a product in this range.I highly recommend it.
Although the board pivots in all directions it is very easy to stand on and maintain balance without thinking about it while working. I'm at a standing desk nearly 8 hrs a day and I'm on this the entire time. I tried standing on the floor but my very flat, wide, feet hurt a lot and would get numb and my lower spine would ache. The moment I started using this all that went away so even though I bought this when it was in the $80+ range and now it's lower, totally worth the $ if you plan to stand for 3 hrs or more a day. I move in place with it, twist it around to put my legs in different positions, and occasionally use the green foot massage ball that sits in the center which hurts initially to put pressure on but after doing it for a few minutes each foot and going back to standing it feels so great. My only complaint is that the otherwise nice wood paneling, which sets it apart from other fully plastic anti-fatigue boards and fits well in a professional environment, just started coming off. I can probably glue it but I have a feeling the other parts will also fall off as I use it more.

Very effective and fun, but...wood paneling can come off after extensive use :(

I really have enjoyed this balance board. It's stable enough that I can stand still on it as needed, but it also offers movement. It is comfortable and useful. I definitely recommend if you are moving to a standing desk and need some relief. It isn't too tall or mobile to be dangerous. It's just right for me, I'm 5'4". I think it's a great value and love using it every day.
I bought this to go along with a standing desktop converter. Originally I was going to get an anti-fatigue mat but when I came across this I knew it was perfect. I teach classes online so the ability to stand and sit from class to class has been helpful in reducing my lower back pain caused by sitting at my desk for several hours at a time. I like this board because it is very easy to use. You can stand on it comfortably, with or without moving. When I am ready to sit the board easily slides under the desk where I can use it to keep my feet occupied while sitting. The mat is somewhere between hard and soft. Not so soft that you could ever sink through it and it doesn’t feel cheap. I use it barefooted and it is very comfortable to step on every part of the mat. On the underside there is an anti slip type of material which works well enough to offer some stability while standing. I never feel like the board is going to fly out from under me. This is a quality product that I highly recommend to use with a standing desk or to add to a work out routine. It is easy and fun to use!
This balance board has drastically improved my standing desk. Its comfortable to stand on for long periods of time. I love the range of motion as I never feel off balance but it keeps me engaged and active throughout the day. I previously use stationary standing mats and while comfortable I would find myself constantly shifting positions to alleviate discomfort. This balance board helps do that for me and often I find myself rocking to music without even noticing.
I've used my balance board for just over a week, and I am loving it! It has just enough movement to keep me from getting stiff or fatigued, but not so much that I am struggling to balance. It seems to be a very high quality, and the size is perfect for using at my standing desk. I turn it 'vertical' sometimes for a different movement. The surface gives, but isn't overly squishy, and the rocking motion is easily controllable but also allows a good range of motion if you intentionally create it. I was looking for something different than just a soft pad to stand on, but not as demanding as a balance board that is intended for exercise. This product is attractive and very functional and definitely meets my needs.
This board is comfortable and feels exceptionally durable. The massage ball on your feet is *chef's kiss* exquisite. A must for any stand up desk, and not a bad way to watch TV in general. After a week with this board I wonder how I functioned without it.
What can I say. I didn’t know what to expect when I bought it and it’s not cheap so when it arrived I was a bit sceptic but as soon as I stood on it, it felt like I am surfing 🏄♀️ and it was really stable, very sturdy and strong design, you cant stand or slightly sway which helps move the leg muscle and stops pressure points building especially like me if I need to stand as I can sit for too long. In the end I concluded yes it’s worth the money and I am glad I bought it.
