To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyzes reviews to verify trustworthiness.

ha, I forgot I had purchased this. I am going back over my old orders, and saw that I never reviewed this. I guess what I think of it now doesnt matter as most of this is moot. Sorry it worked out that way in 2016, but I was on board with what I had read. I agree, we would have been stronger together rather than divided into use vs them.

Plan? Here’s a plan. Many plans. Thorough plans. Workable plans. Feasible plans. Helpful plans. Thoughtful plans. Justice plans. Inclusive plans. “But her emails” oh and misogyny, the plague.

I didn't have the time when I first bought this and read it to respond with a post. Just catching up on some others, and realized I had not mentioned this one. What I really liked is that Clinton and Kaine were very clear about their plan for America. Right there in black and white. Unfortunately, they didn't win, but I sure wish the current President had the insight to clearly talk about his plans for America. I'm not talking about defense issues or things of that nature, but everything with him seems to be a big surprise..... until we get the next big surprise. It makes me feel he doesn't know what in the hell his plans are, except to name call and blame people, anyone except himself. On Dec 31, 2018, I know I will be celebrating with family and friends and saying, please God, only two more years!

This book begins well. The first sentence says, "America is great because America is good." It goes downhill from there. My experience has been that people want to know the inside truth about their role models. I read page after page looking for tips on how to ask for big payments from rich foreign money launderers, military dictators or junk food manufacturers. It was just a bunch of malarkey even more boring than a 6th grade Common Core history book. I wanted to find out how to delete hundreds of thousands of voter registrations and emails, but no such luck. This book talks about how every vote counts. As long as it's for Hillary Clinton! [seriously: I did skim it and it is sooooooo boring and these are two boring people with very little to say except "vote for me!"]

On a technical level, the book is well written in that the authors give concise details of all their plans for America once they get their hands on her, if they do, that is. But I couldn't stand listening to more than an hour of the Audible version I wasted a credit on and skimmed the remainder of my Kindle version, all the while shaking my head.
The book details ambitious plans for overhauling everything from infrastructure to manufacturing to clean energy, etc. and much within their first 100 days because they say that they aren't going to wait for people such as "defeatists in Congress to take action." The book also documents their plans for making debt-free college available to all Americans, but that section doesn't say who's going to foot the bill just a small statement that they are going to "Push employers to contribute to student-debt relief."
The book also has sections on regulations for companies to make them "share profits with employees" and lots more promises of goodies for everyone, no doubt, in an attempt to buy their votes. All this, and the authors plan on defeating ISIS and global terrorism too.
And that's only the first half of the book! Skimming, skimming, skimming...
I don't believe the authors can do all that they say they are going to do in this book, and I don't want them to even try. Not one single progressive proposal in this book is going to make you and me as fellow Americans, "Stronger Together." If you decide to read the book yourself and manage to get through it all, please read between the lines and keep asking yourself who will pay for everything proposed and at what price will it come?

This was an excellent book that provided clear and detailed policies. Clinton/Kaine's platform was progressive and inclusive of all Americans. Sad we will not see these policies implemented.

If you were hoping that this book was an opportunity for in-depth analysis of complex issues, for the candidates to show that they understand complexity and demonstrate how they manage and navigate it, you're going to be disappointed.
The book is actually a giant FAQ, with each entry receiving a 1-2 page response. Since each entry is meant to stand alone it's highly repetitive, often word for word and in close proximity. Because each entry is meant to be consumed quickly, there isn't much detail.
If, for whatever reason, you need an indexed collection of talking points close at hand then this is the book for you. Otherwise, it's not.
