I just started reading B. Love's works, particularly her most recent releases and whether it's slow burn, spiritual, instalove or urban, I appreciate her art in delivering an authentic love story. This particular story started out very gritty but it provided a needed backdrop to the healing that would come from an unlikely yet beautiful source. Izeah Moses is that dude...the one you want to put your entire heart and soul into because you know it will be protected. His beauty was his patience as well as his other distinguishing features and Elise needed that mature kind of love. B. Love keep delivering these classic gems and best believe I am looking forward to Ki and Eva story next.

Listen, I don’t know how B. Love does it time after time. Strumming My Pain may just be my favorite book so far by her. The story of Izeah and Elise is filled with so much longing, intensity , and most importantly, intimacy. This isn’t a instant love story. It’s a slow burn but the attraction
between Izeah and Elise is palpable page after page. Izeah is book bae for real. His passion, his strength, and his patience is enough for every woman to fall in love. B Love continues to give us beautiful stories of black love in so many forms. Izeah and Elise will stay in your mind long after the last page.

Although this was a slow romance, it didn’t feel like it. B depicted Izeah and Elise’s love progressing at the speed it was suppose to. When they first met, their attraction and connection was undeniable, but she wasn’t ready to love him. She had to heal from Quan. Izeah was so patient with her! He gave her all that she needed, although most times he received nothing. Helping her pleased him! That to me shows the strength of a real MAN. It is not always about receiving. Sometimes you have to give now and reap the benefits later! All in all, B wrote another great story! I can’t wait to read Hezekiah and Eva’s story.

When a man has so much self control that he can put his feelings aside to help the woman he craves through her hurt and turmoil and show his love through action alone, is so breathtaking. Izeah was able to love Elise’s pain away without her even realizing what he was doing for her. Hezekiah becoming the brother that she needed only solidified where Elise needed to be. He is also a man of his word and I can’t wait to see where the journey of him and Eva will lead them.
