Everyone loves the movies. We get to lose ourselves in a story and live vicariously through the main character. Through a fun and engaging step-by-step process of looking at life as though it were a movie, Amy inspires women to step into their starring role as leading lady of their own lives, and to stop playing best supporting actress or extra in another person’s story at the expense of themselves. Amy is an the award-winning author of Stuck with Mr. Wrong? Ten Steps to Starring in your Own Life Story, best-selling co-author of A Juicy, Joyful Life, and author of a screenplay, Stitches. Drawing on her years as a professional trainer, consultant, yoga instructor, and career coach, she encourages women to express who they truly are inside and out.
Top customer reviews
Amy cleverly uses a backdrop of movies and their characters, fairy tales with their many stories of "happily ever after" along with archetypes moving in and out of their "light" and "shadowy aspects portraying how unrealistic expectations can be perceived, and played out in relationships by both men and women. Amy's words move effortlessly injecting humor around the reality of life with the opposite sex, and at other times we can read and feel the genuine pain and heartbreak of those who may be feeling imprisoned by their own "undoing", or choices that were made in haste, under pressure, without discernemtnt or many times unconsciously without thought.
Every once in awhile a book will capture your attention and help you to see and understand that relationships can be "tricky", challenging and complicated, but they can also be places of transformation and growth. It about learning lessons from one another and becoming the best you can be in a relationship with another human being. Amy opens the door for us extending an invitation to explore who we are in the relationships we have chosen, and in that exploring we discover our inner strengths and personal limitations. Accepting this invitation we are on our way to discovering an inner peace that serves our self, as well as those we live with.
Amy has written a book for these times, this "21st century", where,"there is never enough time", and where "we never seem to have enough". Amy's book is a reminder of the importance of a healthy, caring and supportive relationship and what that can look like. She reveals in her stories what an unhealthy relationship may look like and how to contend with that. Amy presents solid and compassionate information to her readers as she guides them into a journey of self-empowerment and out into the world once again with confidence and a sense of hope. Amy's passion is to present to women a message of learning to trust that "still small voice within", which is our greatest guide .... and she does it beautifully in, "Stuck With Mr. Wrong?"
