Sex: the h's body is constantly tight with desire, poor thing. Descriptive kissing, then sex, some more descriptive bits than others. Easily skipped.
This must be a part one or something because while there is a happily for now, there's a huge cliffhanger for the friend. It seemed rushed like the word count had been met. Unsatisfying. Returned for content.
I really liked that the main characters have their second chance to fall in love thanks to the fate and an unreliable lift.
I've read Carla Burgess words effortlessly, swooning from page to page...I have to go back and read her debut novel as soon as possible.

I increasingly enjoyed the growing relationship between Daniel and Elena and how her memories of the past were revealed as not always accurate. Initially I liked her protective sensible friend Rachel but she gradually became annoying.
But then it doesn’t go anywhere. There are several gaping holes in the sub plots that go unanswered. Who is her best friends mystery man and why is she so secretive? Who did the ex move in with and why is he so cold? What is the deal with the crushes angry mate? Rather than tackling these with a twist that comes good or adding any depth it just trundles through towards a drama free happy ever after. Except it doesn’t get there either, it leaves you at the potential happy ever after but without the interest to make you want a sequel out of anything other than curiosity.
There is a lot of fun as they renew their friendship and many amusing interludes as they navigate a burgeoning romance under the watchful eyes of their parents, who become their temporary landlords. Teenage problems are relived as the couple try to keep their private lives under wraps, forget that they have someone to notify if they stay out all night and struggle with parental expectations.
A gentle and romantic read which provides lots of amusing moments.
It's the kind of story that makes you want to fall in love again and took me back to my early twenties and that just starting out feeling. I loved how Elena and Daniel had very normal jobs. They both lived with their parents which added a genuine quality to the novel. And the love their parents had for their children really shone through.
I had a smile on my face the entire way though reading this book and I loved every minute of it. I could've have kept living in Elena and Daniel's life forever and feel a little sad it's finished.
