Anyway, I do not conceive how the labels still don't understand that in this days when most people consume music via streaming, who still buy records, what we intend to acquire is a physical product rather than the music itself. When this box just came out it was worth around $50, and perhaps someone could argue that for the price you couldn't expect a better presentation, although for me it is still inexcusable to sell such a poor presentation for a mega company like Warner. However, now that the price has almost doubled, it doesn't seem worthwhile to buy this product, no matter how much I appreciate each album.
The remastering is questionable:
I just purchased this new Alice Cooper studio albums 1969-1983 box set, hoping (expecting) the mastering to be as superb as the 1999 "The Life and Crimes of Alice Cooper" Rhino box set. Unfortunately, this is not the case. This new albums box set, in my honest opinion, pales in comparison to the 1999's "Life and Crimes" box set mastering - the new albums box set is just not as punchy and crisp as "The Life and Crimes" box set.
Of course, others may disagree and prefer the sound of this one...
Face it ... This guy is a LEGEND and we are the lucky ones for it. I love the fact that this particular boxed set contains all of the CLASSIC album recordings by the original AC band featuring Coop, Michael Bruce, Glen Buxton, Dennis Dunaway and Neal Smith. AWESOME!!
Get this one, folks ... You won't be disappointed.
