I'm not a microphone expert by any means, and as with most things musical it's largely subjective anyway, but I thought MiC did a fantastic job recording my acoustic guitar. There is one peculiar issue though. When I plug the MiC into my iPhone 4S the Wi-Fi and cellular network connections no longer work. Everything goes back to normal when you unplug the MiC, but this means MiC is unusable with Skype or any other app that requires an internet connection. It's not a big deal for me, but it is something to be aware of. I believe a Line 6 product I had did the same thing, so I'm not sure it's anything Apogee can fix themselves. The iPad 2 is not affected. MiC comes with a tiny stand that looks like one of those pocket-sized camera tripods. It worked great on my coffee table for recording acoustic guitar. MiC comes with two cables, one for iOS devices and another for connecting to a Mac. The cable plugs very securely into the iPad and iPhone, something I'm very particular about. There's nothing worse than a cable that unplugs with the slightest nudge or tug. I'm very happy with MiC and all of my other Apogee products. They're made in the USA too!

Wonderful! I've owned 3 SSL rooms in N Hollywood so I know a little about recording and this product is just great! East to work and sounds amazing with no noticeable latency! All my small firewire and usb boxes I never use because of the delay issues! The Jam works great also. If you travel and want something portable this is really your way to go! I use this with my macbook pro for pro tools, logic, and garage band. It sounds better than other stuff too!

I thought I would save money by buying the apogee MiC on amazon thinking all the cables and mic holster adapter would be included. Instead I had to make another order for the 8 pin lightning cable and a mic adapter for my mic stand. In total I spent $199.99 for the base product (Apogee Mic) and then additional order of 29.99 and 19.99 for the items that already come as a package at the apple store which retails for $229.99. I wish the apogee mic description was more clear Or at least let the customer know that iPhone 5 or iPad mini 4 Gen and newer need the extra 8pin cable and for those who opt to use on a stand need to purchase the adapter. It's only a marginal difference but it's disappointing when opening a package and the accessories needed aren't included. I guess I will have to read description three times over when it comes to purchasing these type of items. Apogee Mic and accessories work great though.

Working in the Recording Business for years, I was really impressed with this microphone. It gives you outstanding quality for mobile recording. It' works great with Garage Band (Both ipod and ipad), and Runs smoothly with Ableton Live with a Macbook Pro. It saves the trouble of having a phantom powered mic (and traveling with pre-amps or audio interfaces). ¡Great Product!

My family has been bugging me to make them a CD for years, and I got an iPad a little over a year ago, so I figured I'd just put some acoustic stuff together for them for Christmas and bought this little mic to do it. My expectations weren't high but that was fine. I didn't need anything fancy.

But let me tell you... I was blown away with what I got. I've done plenty of professional studio recording in the past, and this little condenser will achieve a sound that is almost up to that. I'm just on Garageband in my iPad and I've managed to crank out several studio quality recordings. It picks up the whole spectrum of everything from vocals to guitar to bass to piano to hand percussion to flute... you name it. Digital mics generally have a bit of a hiss and often don't record a crisp sound, but this one has neither problem. It impresses at every turn.

Some of the other reviews have mentioned this and I can confirm it: if you're going to record any sort of vocals, you'll want a wind screen. It will pop on hard consonants. But that's typical of a close-up condenser.

Will this give you a perfectly flawless recording? No, probably not. But it's darn near close, especially considering its price and what it interfaces with. If you're considering purchasing this microphone, just do it. You won't regret it.

The Apogee MiC is awesome. It is extremely small and portable and the build quality is great. It is so simple to use as it does not require external power. You can even mount it on a mic stand to manuever it into the position that you want it. The sound quality is superb; I've used it to record acoustic guitar and vocals. I would highly recommend this product... it is very reasonably priced and great for travel and recording on the go with your iPad/Macbook.

What can I say, the apogee Mic Is a superb little mic. Do not let the size of It fool you. I use It to record vocals with Ableton Live 8 on OSX Lion and I also use GarageBand sometimes on an Ipad 3 and my old Macbook.

The mic sounds very clear and crisp for vocal recordings. I do not have any statics i some times get with other microphones. It only p/up the vocal that Is directly in front of It. I also use a double pop vocal filter. While recording this summer, I had a portable AC running the whole time with no problems which I can not do with my Keyseditors150 USB mic.

The apogee company so far has proven me they care and serious about making aesthetically beautiful, strong, efficient product In my opinion.

I hope that apogee Is reading this review. They need to make the Apogee Mic Accessory kit available. I can not wait for the small accessory case and longer cables, meaning the whole kit (The package) for both mac and Ipad cable to be available on the market. That' s the only thing missing.
