If this helps anyone who orders these. Let me try to explain how to set up the soft boxes. You get 4 tension rods with each of the soft boxes. The one end of each tension bar goes into the side holes on the lights themselves. Then when you attach the tension bar to the end of the soft box it is really hard to see that on the soft box there is a small little hole between the black Velcro at each end of the soft box. Just really examine the corners of the soft box where the black Velcro is located in the corners. You will see the hole where the other end of the tension bar goes.
I know someone else said this but if you assemble the soft boxes from the light first it does help. Just place the light on the ground, place 2 of the tension bars into the light holes, then slip the soft box over the 2 tension bars and slip the other end of the tension bar into the black Velcro ends. Once you get 2 attached like that then just add the other two tension bars the same way. It takes some time and patience when you do it. The end is worth it with these lights.
The lights and the materials themselves are fine. My problem with the entire kit is the hardware. After only 2 months of using 4-5 times total, the heads of the lights constantly fall down and drop despite tightening the hardware. The reason why is the plastic clasp can't sustain the head of the weight and loses its grip.
Very infuriating unfortunately. Other than that, the setup is fairly simple (took 30 minutes in total).
The important thing is this company stands by its product. I was having trouble keeping the softbox at the right angle. It insisted on drooping. I contacted the company and within days they contacted me, and I had replacement parts that helped fix the problem.
I love any company that reacts and responds this way. If you're considering these vs another similar product, DEFINITELY choose these.
What set this set apart for me is the ability to individually control the lights within the soft boxes. You can get really creative with your lighting. Money well spent! I started out with one the many generic studio kits on amazon that came with a backdrop stand, three muslins (worthless) and two umbrella lights. The lights just were not bright enough and these are WAYYYYY brighter. I just moved the umbrella lights so they are now dedicated to lighting the backdrop. (White needs a lot of light so it doesn't look gray)
