By Study and Also by Faith, vol. 2 Kindle Edition
This second volume of essays honoring Hugh Nibley includes scholarly papers based on what the authors have learned from Nibley, on hints they may have found in one of his books or articles, or on subjects they may have learned at his feet. Nearly every major subject that Dr. Nibley has encompassed in his vast learning and scholarly production is represented here by at least one article, or by an outstanding expert in that field.
The two volumes contain papers on subject areas that include the Bible and the ancient Near East, early and Eastern Christianity and formative Judaism, aspects of kingship and the sacred, the religion and society of Asia, the Classics, the scriptures of the Latter-day Saints, and modern themes dealing with religion, literature, and society. Especially notable are papers by world-renowned scholars, including Drs. Aziz Atiya, James Charlesworth, Cyrus Gordon, Jacob Milgrom, Jacob Neusner, and Raphael Patai, whose work in these volumes attests to the wide respect in which Dr. Nibley's work, as well as his personal example, is held. Finally, these volumes include papers by authors representing the second or the third generations of Nibley's influence, an influence that will surely endure through many generations of future scholars.

Dr. Hugh Nibley has inspired a whole new generation of scholars to apply the discipline of the scholar to gospel topics by his example of using his incisive and thoughtful scholarship to examine things such as the Book of Mormon and the Book of Abraham. His scholarship was impeccable and impressive and even non-members sat up and have taken notice. These other scholars whom he inspired have now taken up the gauntlet and are following in his footsteps. There is no downside here. You will likely enjoy the work of this new generation of scholars as much as I do.
Good luck as you set out on your own voyage of discovery as a passenger on journey that can last a lifetime. Good luck on the journey!
My personal favourite essay is that of John Tvedtnes and the Feast of Tabernacles and King Benjamin's speech. This essay along provides very strong evidence conducive to a Semitic origin for the Book of Mormon and refutes the popular anti-LDS claim that the Book of Mormon has no Jewish festivals contained therein.
An excellent text in honour of an excellent scholar.
