“What started as Stylelikeu co-founder Lily Mandelbaum’s personal scrapbook is now an inspirational tome that is much more enthralling than any editorial we’ve ever seen.”
“The photos are a mix of close-ups of shoes, accessories and tattoos and full-page spreads on a given fashionista in different outfits. The best part is that you could actually dress like these people.”
About the Author
Lily Mandelbaum, Elisa Goodkind's daughter, is currently an undergraduate filmmaking and anthropology major at NYU’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study. After taking a life-changing trip to Nairobi's Kibera slum in 2009, Mandelbaum completed a documentary film that depicts the struggles faced by slum orphans. She hopes the attention generated by the film will help create opportunities for these children to become educated and attain a brighter future.

That being said, this is a great book! It offers a nice variety of some of their coolest profiles and is great to flip through for all types of inspiration from wardrobe to interior design. It's really great to see an honest portrait of contemporary living that isn't staged by a high priced design firm in some ridiculously expensive and unattainable homes. These are real people (although some very quirky, granted!), in their real homes, the way they really live. And it's wonderful.
The actual size and feel of the book are so nicely done as well. It's substantial without being oversized, and is a nice sized volume overall. The cover is a nice heavy printed almost linen like surface which is gorgeous. I proudly keep this book out with a few others I love for people to flip through when they visit and invariably this one always draws the most attention!
And excellent buy for anyone who loves style and fashion and appreciates individualism, this book explores all of those subjects beautifully!
It's mostly pictures, but, what story they wrote was a interesting and enlightening to me.
If you like different and unusual styles, this is the book for you. I highly recommend this book.
