Product Description

The black SBR rubber sheet is 70 Shore A and has a smooth finish. SBR (styrene butadiene rubber) is a synthetic rubber that provides good abrasion resistance. A hardness measurement of 70 Shore A means the material has a hard surface for good penetration and wear resistance.

Rubber is a strong, flexible material that provides good insulation and shock absorption. Some types of rubber may be weather or chemical resistant and withstand high temperatures. Wear resistance is the degree to which the rubber resists abrasion. Hardness is measured with scales Shore D, Shore OO, and Shore A, which is the most common scale. A higher number means the material is harder and more resistant to penetration. A lower number means the material is softer and more flexible. Tensile strength, used to indicate the material’s overall strength, is the peak stress it can withstand before it breaks.

What is Styrene Butadiene Rubber?

Styrene butadiene rubber, commonly referred to as SBR, is a tough and resilient synthetic rubber material. It is so durable that it is a common rubber material used in the production of vehicle tires. Synthetic SBR is also highly resistant to damaging outdoor factors, including UV rays and ozone, allowing it to be an excellent indoor/outdoor rubber.

      I bought this to add impeller extensions to my Cub Cadet 2 stage snowblower. We finally got enough snow to test my mods. We got 2 inches of wet snow, before the mods it would have plugged several times and only thrown the snow 10-15 feet. With the mods, no plugging and it threw snow 20-30 feet while in high gear.

      I added the rubber extensions by drilling through the steel impeller and made flat steel plates to clamp them on with nuts and bolts.

      The rubber held up beautifully. I also can rotate these first three when they do wear down, plus I have enough material left from the 12x12 stock to make 6 more.

It has been over a week of trying to get the part flat. I tried placing on a warm surface, putting weight on it, etc and nothing will make it flat. I will probably have to send back.
