About the Author
Dr. Shelly Cameron is founder and managing Principal of Cameron Calder & Associates. She was born in Kingston, Jamaica and is a seasoned business consultant. She specializes in the enhancement of performance management through helping organizations align their strategies, processes and people. Dr. Cameron is especially skilled in the healthcare industry, where she has worked for over 20 years, including 14 years as Head of Human Resources for countries in the Northern Caribbean, with leadership in the Latin America region for the International Pharmaceutical giant, GlaxoSmithKline. She directed Leadership and Change Management initiatives during several international mergers, which culminated into the coveted Employer of Choice Award. She also managed strategic initiatives of medical clinics across South Florida. Dr. Cameron holds Doctorate in Education, major in Organizational Leadership, Masters in Healthcare Administration, Master of Science in Human Resource Management, and Bachelors in Management Studies. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE), the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), and the Hospitality Human Resource Association (HHRABC). On an individual basis, Dr. Cameron’s mission is to inspire others to discover who they are and to become their best possible self, both professionally and in their life long career endeavors. At the community level through participation in workshops, health fairs and more, Dr. Cameron has collaborated with several organizations to contribute to the needy throughout the USA, Caribbean, and Kenya, East Africa. Her mission is to not only make a difference in the local community, but also to the wider society.
