From the Author
I often speak of Stephen King and Mary Kay Ash. These twoare examples of leaders who experienced numerous rejections before becominghousehold names. In his early career, Stephen King wrote many books and shortstories only to be rejected time after time. But his attitude made thedifference. He pinned the rejections on his wall until his book Carrie wasfinally accepted. Coincidentally, the manuscript--Carrie, was thrown into thetrash at home. His wife saw it, read it, then encouraged him to continuewriting. It was eventually accepted, published, and later became amovie. Since then Stephen has written over 52 books, and 200 shortstories.
Mary Kay Ash was ahead of her time. A strong marketing andsales representative, she too experienced tons of rejections but never gave up.Armed with her belief in her products, she realized her dream. That dream wasto inspire women to transform their lives and in doing so, she helped otherwomen achieve success.
Today, Mary Kay products is big business with over 3.5million enthusiastic independent beauty consultants worldwide. Mary Kay's dreamprovided a thriving business for women who believed in earning extra incomewhile being beautiful.
Stephen King and Mary Kay Ash are two solid examples ofsuccess against all odds. I believe that anyone can succeed however they defineit. I emphatically stress that you never let anyone define what success meansto you. That is something only you can define for yourself.
