Succulent WreathA succulent wreath makes a great addition to any door, room, or wall. Even though it's living, you'll find it is easy to maintain and doesn't require much attention. The types of succulents you'll choose will have a large impact on the look and style of your wreath. You can combine a variety of brightly colored succulents in a range of shapes and textures for a bold look, or select succulents of similar colors and textures to create a more uniform piece. Either way, a succulent wreath is sure to be an impressive addition to your décor. |
Living PictureThere's something appealing about plants growing vertically rather than in a pot. Succulents do especially well in vertical arrangements, so they are a popular choice for creating living pictures. A living picture can cover an entire wall, or it can be something smaller and more personal. If you're growing indoors, small and personal is a great option. Find a color palette of succulents that you like, or choose a variety of shapes and textures. Rosettes are a popular choice for living pictures, but branchy, trailing, and even somewhat tall succulents work too. |
Strawberry PotIf you're looking for something a little different than the typical ceramic pot, try a strawberry pot! These pots come in a variety of sizes and colors and have "pockets" poking out of the sides. Not only do you have plants at the top, but along the sides of the planter as well. Succulents work well in these pockets because they don't need a lot of space for roots. This planter is a simple way to add interest to your succulent garden. |
Getting to know succulents
You've seen succulents in magazines, on your Instagram feed, in bouquets, and in gorgeous container arrangements; they're everywhere. Maybe you're intrigued by their bright colors and unusual shapes. Maybe you've heard they're easy to take care of: "anyone can keep them alive" and "they're foolproof." Now you want some of your own, but you're not sure where to start. This book will get you headed in the right direction. There are so many things you can do with these amazing plants! You'll love deciding which plants to get and how to arrange them.

Selecting and arranging succulentsOne of the best things about succulents is that you can pair almost any two varieties and they will look great together. With so many different colors and textures, it's fun to experiment with new combinations. Selecting a beautiful container can be just as fun as selecting the succulents. |
Graptoveria - 'Candle Blue'One of the great things about this plant is that it maintains its color pretty well in shade. It puts off new offsets very quickly and forms small clumps. |
Graptosedum - 'California Sunset'Graptosedum - 'California Sunset' is a great variety to use in arrangements. Its reddish hue contrasts nicely with the more common green succulents. |
Decorated Napkin RingWhat better way to dress up a table setting than with succulents? Whether you're planning an event or just want to make dinner a little more special, these simple succulent-decorated napkin rings will add a touch of elegance. This tutorial shows you how to create your own napkin ring using wire and floral tape, but you can also decorate a premade wooden ring. Both options are easy to do and look great. |

ALSO in the decorating with succulent giant section, the lovely pictures of bouquets, wreaths, bowls it’s such a waste of space to NOT include the lesse less crowded bunches of succulents with their names. Also at the front part of the book - pretty good, on propagation would feature a picture of a succulent. PUT A NAME OF THE PLANT SOMEWHERE ON THE SAME PAGE.I’ve been gardening for many years & only tried a few succs. Now I’m seriously growing about 30 plants under grow lights. So many of them look very similar &.some of the names of the plants sound similar. SO HELP US TO KNOW THE NAMES OF OUR SUCCULENTS NOT HOW TO HOT GLUE SUCCULENTS ONTO A PICTURE FRAME.
Also i figured out that if you want to bring out the red & blue in your succs. give them more sun. But she never addresses - how do you keep a white succulent white? & can someone identify succ pictures here? It’s not an “elephant bush”, it’s not variegated jade. It’s a collection of little tree like branches topped by florets that are green & white & a little pink. Please can someone answer these questions for me?
There are some typos in here i can’t correct now but will later.
